Who do you think is the god or goddess of music?

I'm going to have to go with Prince on this one. He sings, plays multiple instruments(sometimes in a single song), he writes his own music and lyrics with a constant superb quality, he's one of the few artists who can go on tour with minimal advertising and sell out every time, and finally he made it into the business literally by himself and strived to get where he is now.

Who does everyone else consider to be their music god or goddess?

John Lydon. Listen to his solo work, and you'll see what I mean. Incredibly deep and articulate, yet it still sounds like nothing you've ever heard before.

He uses rolls of toilet paper as musical instruments!

Seems to me that it would be pretty shitty.

Pope Gregory. Someone would have said the same thing eventually, but you gotta give it up to the guy who went, "Hey, find a way to write this stuff down." And he was pope, so he was in a god position...

hmmm....I appear to be wearing the nerd pants all of a sudden....I better git while I still have lunch money...

Clearly she has no talent, yet her music is relatively popular. Therefore it must be magic. And since magic defies the laws of physics, she must not be mortal. And if she is immortal, she must be a Goddess, and since she works through music, I would say she's the Chaotic Evil Goddess of Music, and possibly statutory rape.

Shane MacGowan. He's God because he's supposed to be dead for a looooooong time, but he isn't, so therefor he must be God.

Norah Jones and Jewel are the goddesses that come to mind first and foremost. And no one does a ballad quite like Bryan Adams.

There are many others, of course, but I guess I'm kind of slow to wake up this morning - I'm drawing a blank at the moment.

It must be Allah, because the state of popular music these days makes me understand why the Quran says that anyone who listens to music will have molten lead poured in his ears in the afterlife. (I'm not a muslim and have only read that part of the quran necessary for debunking a stupid email that said that verse 9.11 of the quran said something about a great eagle being burned rather than saying that if people pray and give money to the poor then you should treat them as equals. I only heard about the lead in the ears thing as part of our Afghanistan propoganda, so I'm aware it might not be true, anyone who can validate?)
