Fenestrations. I love that word. And Jillion.oooooh, and bizuliar, which is a combination of bizaare and peculiar that I invented, to my knowledge, and pecaare, which is peculiar and bizaare which I didn't invent.

Don't worry, once you've been here for a while, you'll start to notice that it's ALL been done before:) Doesn't make it any less new to the people starting these threads though, so hey! Why not?

In English? "Sunshower."

In Swedish? "Nordöstersjökustartilleriflygspaningssimulatoranläggningsmaterielunderhållsuppföljningssystemdiskuss ionsinläggsförberedelsearbeten."

Just kidding (even though that is an actual Swedish word made possible by the fact that it is extremely easy to combine words in Swedish to make new words.)

My real favourite is "Hav" (ocean). Prounounced completely differently than "have" in English.

In French? Either "dérisoire" (derisory) or "libellule" (dragonfly).

In German? "Weihnachtsbaum" (christmas tree).

what peculiar coincidence that your favourite word is defenestrate and mine is fenestrations. I smell conspiracy. (and... perhaps, my vanilla and rasberry cheesecake. which I bought and shall consume myself.

I don't actually know what it means, I just use it as if I was a villain that had been foiled when the maiden had been rescued from the traintracks.

Curses, Fenestrations!

How about foreign words? I love the sound of my user name, which is Russian for "tourist sites" (and it's pronounced DAH-sto-pree-meh-CHA-teel-na-stee). Chetirista (chet EER ee sta) is another favorite.

As for English, definitely hodgepodge. :)
