Has anyone else applied for postal votes for the May 5th election? If so, have you gotten them yet?

Same here. Very pissed off right now, especially with eight days till the election, and the fact I would have to drive for two hours to vote at my registered ballot station. Perhaps Labour are scared, and don't want blatant Lib Dems or Conservatives to vote.

You get your voting papers in the post...then post back your vote....
:)
Saves going to the polling station!

well cripe....that saves a lot of wait in line time! I'm all for that! I dont think the US will let us do that though.....apparently we have to be able to count the votes correctly before they will let us have a task such as that in our hands...

Well Labour conviniently hide them away instead of counting them, a la Birmingham a short while ago. All hail Fuhrer Blair.

Like all the overseas servicemen Labour sent to fight. They haven't had their votes. Some have been told they aren't allowed to vote. WHAT THE DUCK???

I agree.....it does!

Any idea how they can do that?

This time we have to sign in front of a witness...but that still doesn't prove they will be received and counted.

Then vote Lib Dem.

*Bursts out laughing*

Ok, how bout UKIP?

*Waits for laughter to subside*

Erm, Verit.... I give up.

Vote Tory. It's the only alternative to a lying bunch of immigrant pleasers set on destroying Britain and the middle class. And the upper class. And anyone who works for a living.

I'm of the opinion that until the allegations of fraud and corruption surrounding the postal voting system are either shown without a doubt to be false, or corrected, then you should only really be putting your faith in the system if you really need to (physically disabled, for instance). It's not far to my voting station. If I go with a gun, not only does it clear the lines but also makes a statement of how poorly Labour are handling gun crime :D.

Lol. Just form a queue behind all the non-english speaking murderers and gangsters hot off the boat at Dover who found a conviniently discarded box of nameless ballot papers left by Blair on his latest visit.

If Labour get re-elected, I'm emigrating. Canada here I come.

See you there, then :(.

It's almost certain that Labour will get in. People on the bottom of the payroll all vote Labour thinking "great, they're all about us workers!" when in reality, all Labour seems to do is make the so-called 'poverty trap' grow ever-wider for everybody, workers included. They might not have a sizeable majority this time around, but I still see them winning overall.
I still haven't decided who to vote for. I'm more of an anarchist than anything else -- all I want is a government that leaves people alone as much as possible, let them make their own mistakes, let them dig their way out, and actually think for themselves for a change. I don't want Labour or the Liberals because they both guarantee a nanny state with extortionate taxes. I don't want Conservatives because I just don't see half of their proposals working out, especially their spending plans. And apart from anything else, this constituency is a Labour stronghold; I don't think they've ever lost an election here since they got in, maybe 20 years ago or more. So a vote for anyone other than Labour is liable to be wasted anyway. I'd love to help get rid of Labour -- even more so than ever after paying over 90p per litre for my petrol a couple of hours ago -- but negative voting isn't really my thing, y'know.

But there's always hope. Maybe the MRLs will get in. I won't start looking for an overseas job just yet...
