A Public Apology

I realize that I have been a jerk in some debating threads. I apologize to those I have insulted, and in the future I will be taking some time away from the computer and returing to a debate in a calm manner when I feel that someone has attacked me.

Good on ya pal.
I hope it works out for you. :)

Well, when you're being an ass it's usually best to stop doing that and apologize to those you have wronged.

Maybe we should form a group of all of us who have publicly apologised for the same thing:) We could call ourselves, "Assholes Anonymous Unanimously Apologising for Assholery!"
AAUAA

Anywho, Dakini, I haven't born the brunt of your razor-sharp tongue, but I forgive you anyway!

Edit: The AAUAA would have to balance the AUUUA, "Assholes Unanimous Unanimously Unapologetic of Assholery". I have a suspicion that a certain commie would volunteer to be the president:). You know I love ya...

If you're talking about the thread about science vs. arts, you certainly weren't being any more of an ass than just about everyone else that posted in that thread. I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. I don't think anyone here thinks of you as a jerk or an ass or anything. I, personally, think you're one of the more intelligent debators on this forum. I always look forward to reading your posts.

I somehow get the feeling that the people I was most recently a jerk to won't even bother to look at this thread. It's not controversial or exciting... or even a giant thread.

But yeah, we should form a group.

If anyone else feels they've been an ass, feel free to use this as a place to apologize for such actions.

Thank you. And yeah, that was the thread I was referring to, I did get out of hand, especially with the one other guy, new-ish poster I think, he came in at the end and claimed that scientists weren't creative at all and I did get a bit pissy without too much provocation... I think he made up for it though with his response.

It takes a real man to apolagize... Sorry for all that crap I said :)

Actually, on second thought, I think I might switch to the AUUUA instead:).

OR woman. Or transgendered person. So far, someone from each gender has made an apology on General.

So the rest of you fake men, women and transgendereds who HAVEN'T apologised...well, here's your chance to become real...

Well the arts students and the science students were all equally dick in that thread. It's not as though you stood out as being more of a jerk.

I'm sorry Sinuhue. I'm sorry I'm so amazingly awesome and you can hardly resist falling madly in love with me.

I wouldn't worry about it. That whole thread was absurd. I read the whole thing, and I think you acted completely in accord with how everyone else acted. Yeah, you were being something of a bitch, but no more than anyone else (and certainly a lot less than some other people).

Transgendered? Really?

I begrudgingly admit that I am on occasion a bit unforgiving of what I view to be mistakes in logic, even as I expect people to forgive me mine. I apologize to anyone I have wronged. Most people I reply to, I have a great deal of respect for. There's really no point in trying to convince an idiot so I generally save my breath. No, Sin, that's not why I haven't been talking to you lately :fluffle:

Regarding that thread, I wish I had gotten in before it was locked. I wanted to speak up to defend us Business major guys. Just because we lack the higher math skills to be scientists AND we lack the aesthetic insight to be artists doesn't mean we don't have something to offer!

We learn how to shuffle imaginary money back and forth and say things like "The capitalization of interest in large-scale construction subsets must, of course, conform to the GAAP methodology, however, in an audit context, one must be mindful of varying organizational proficiencies in ASB compliance".

You can't minimize the value of something like that for human civilization.

Ha! Beautifully put.

I don't think all of us were being unreasonable in that thread. But, hey, whatever floats your boat.
