ever wonder...

ok, no facts, no Googling... just plain imagination.

Looking at alot of everyday things... ever wonder how man ever discovered them?

Take Milk... what might have actually gone through the mind of the first person to actually try Cow's milk...

hmmm.... I'm so thirsty, I think I'll try the stuff that comes out when I squeeze these.

any of your thoughts on other everyday items?

oh, sure. Even silk. Who would think of using the secretion of a worm as some kind of fine fabric? or bread. That's another one. With the yeast, the grain, and the baking... it seems an odd combination for someone to stumble upon. But the real kicker for me is tea and coffee.

"what'll happen if I take these leaves, boil some water, mix them up, and add milk and sugar?"

bizaare.

How about the first person to eat Muscle's (the sea food not any old piece of meat) you would have to be in a bad way if you thought that that looked tasty.

Cow's Milk:Probably started under a circumstance where an infant could not nurse from its mother.

Tea: People have boiled roots/leaves/herbs for medicinal properties. One day, someone did the same with tea leaves, and thought to themselves "hm.. quite enjoyable.. Now if I could only find some milk." :)

i think about this stuff all the time. not just "why did someone decide to make that?!" but about all sorts of things, like "who chose that chair?", "why is that that colour/shape?" You can ask these questions about pretty much everything you see... it annoys me sometimes

the one that gets me is cheese. why would anyone take some milk (which we've already established is a bit weird itself), bash it about a bit, take the top layer of crap off, and, remembering at this point it smells truly awful, decide to lump it into a ball and leave it a few months to grow plenty of nice mould. then eat it!? i mean, wtf?!
i don't dislike cheese but its crazy

I'm always fascinated by glass.

A bonfire on the beach perhaps?

After Cows milk... can you imagine...

hey... that stuff was tastey... wonder if the same can be said of this Goat...

and speaking of Cheese... look at butter... what was being done to the cream to get it churned into butter?

For some reason... I'm thinking Friday night... very lonely Man... small container of cream...

Ok, that was disgusting... my apologies.

Well, how did anyone ever come up with the wheel?

I mean, sure it is a wonderful idea, it helps get things from point A to point B, but how do you come up with something like that from scratch? Do you sit there and look at circles and realize "hey, no corners, I bet this would roll" or was it an accident... like someone chopped up a log and it rolled off on them so they made a more efficient version that they could hook onto their cargo.

I ALWAYS wonder this stuff...and wonder how desperate people must have been to discover ANY food, especially plants. I mean, someone must have sampled things like grass and poisonous berries for us to know that they are not edible. Things like beer, cheese, sour cream, pretty much any food is a wonder to me. How did people figure it out? And thank you for doing it!

WTF?

I don't wonder why we made stuff. I wonder why we spell words the way we do. weird, huh?

Definatly, I've thought that.

What about things like Cake, who on earth could come across a baking method like making a cake by accident?

Alright .. well that goes here .. add flour .. oh god no, that's not flour it's sugar!

Ok .. know I just stir in different ways adding various sweet ingrediants .. and then accidently take it out of the oven plenty earlier than bread ..

Or how about gelatin.

"Ooh! I'll grind up animal bones, boil them down, and then eat it!"

I've always wondered about tobacco. Did they try rolling up a bunch of other leaves and sucking on them until one became desirable? Why would you do that to begin with?
