For those of you who don't know (which, I wager, is almost all of you), the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, or something like that) Robotics National tournament was held this weekend, with pits opening on Thursday, rounds starting Friday, and the last rounds plus National Finals held Saturday. I'm part of Team 1072 (27th seed :( , Curie division, first year at Nationals), and we were staying at a hotel about a half-mile from the competition. Wednesday night, as we were settling into the room, my roomate attacks me with a pillow. Do I respond in kind? No! I pull out the Gideon bible conveniently left in our room and whack him with it. But it doesn't end there; apparently, the book of Mormon was left in the room too. So, armed with the holy books, I bludgeon him into submission, as he vainly attempts to buffet me with his pillow. We couldn't stop laughing afterwards.
Is this enough? No. On Thursday, when our team was basically told to work out our own dinner arangements but always travel in groups and make sure the coach knows where you are going, plus a curfew, two of the girls come by our room as we plan where we are headed. We can't decide, and then my roomate once more assaults me with a pillow - and, once more, I engage with my holy might, 'smiting' him down. The looks on the girls' faces at our sheer stupidity were priceless :D
