What accents do you like?

Too much debating going on. I prefer to spread love....or lust.

So what accent tends to get you going?

I myself love a woman with a British accent. Women with Russian and Latin accents get my motor going too :fluffle:

I come from the south east of England (Brighton) and my boyfriend is from the north west (near Liverpool). We both like each others' accents because they aren't too strong...

...Except when we get stressed out, when I apparently sound Cockney and his voice raises pitch so he sounds proper Scouse.

I do like an Eastern European tinged accent though :)

South African

There is no such accent as 'South African.' South Africa has about a dozen different cultures: Afrikaners, Zulus, Xhosas, English...

Which of them did you have in mind?

Who's Shane McGowan?

He is the greatest man ever of all time. Well he used to be a man, now he is more like a living breathing skin covered mass of jameson's whiskey and Guiness. He sings for the Pogues.

i dunno, I've always found it to be a really strange accent, I can never work it out, that's why I find it so intriguing, I always thought it sounded a bit like a mixture of Aussie and English, but I've only met like 5 people from SA so I dunno

This objection could be rasied to any of the replies on this thread. The OP says "Latin" for example. This covers an entire continent and a half of accents. There is no such thing as English, which you cite as an accent, nor British.
However to people who are not from that place, or have not lived there for any time, there is a general South African, or a general Latin or British accent. Stop being picky.

I go for Lowland Scottish, or São Paulo Brazilian. But there is also something attractive about South East Asian women speaking English.

There's a Russian lady here at work, everytime she calls down here for computer help I absolutely melt hearing her voice.

The girl of my dreams is British, everytime I hear her voice I fall in love with her all over again. It's the cutest thing hearing her say words like naughty, and garage.

I have a British accent, but accents which turn me off are really common British ones. I'm sorry, I don't have anything against the people themselves but I guess I'm a bit of an accent snob in that respect.
Otherwise, I love loads of accents. I like Irish, and southern state accents from the US, but my front runner has to be Italian... mmm... Portugese, Spanish, Croatian, Polish, Romanian, Swedish, Estonian... I'm just a great big accent slut, lol!

English accents! Just about all of them are cool, but the cockney and posh variations are just special... fascinates me. The Scottish and Irish have awesome accents, albeit not the easiest to understand. Aussie is good if you're talking about crocs. ;p
