dated April 18, 1955: Nehru in Bandung

The Prime Ministers of India, Burma and Egypt arrived at Bandung on April 16 for the Asian-African conference. A severe tropical thunderstorm over Bandung delayed the arrival of Mr. Nehru's plane. The Indonesian Premier, Dr. Ali Sastroamidjojo waited for more than two hours at the rain-soaked airfield. Crowds of Indonesians who had lined the route from the airfield three miles into the city were drenched in the heavy downpour. Mr. Nehru told correspondents on his arrival that the Formosa problem could certainly not be solved in the United Nations if Communist China "is not there." He denied that he had discussed the Formosa problem with Mr. Chou En-lai, Chinese Prime Minister, when they were together in Rangoon on April 15.

Einstein's death?
I'm glad to see that didn't take too long to solve. Good to see others share my admiration and appreciation of this towering genius.

Speaking of Einstein, I heartily recommend reading "The Fabric of the Cosmos" by Brian Greene (author of 'The Elegant Universe'). It's his latest (came out this year in fact) and is simply brilliant. He manages to explain Einstein's Theories so they make sense, which is an impressive feat.

It's also 100 years for when he was working on his theories of relativity (published June 1905, but he worked on them over 6 weeks from April to May that year).
