You ever had a tooth just explode in your mouth,, I mean, BAM!! Explode and pain lances through your skull and you collapse on the ground and scream like a banshee and like maybe blackout from the pain but wake up later and it still hurts like hell and then you go to the dentist the the old man just says, better do this quick, and then he just yanks what is left of your tooth out of your head and you pass out again?
Its never happened to me. How bout you?

Yes actually.

I was having breakfast in a Bob Evans one day, with the GF.
I ran out of smokes so I went across the street to the store to buy more.
On my way back, as I was packing my smokes, not a care in the world...

suddenly, I felt the worst pain I have ever felt before, or since, in my entire life spanning three decades.

I though I had been shot in the face.
It brought me to my knees, and I nearly lost concoiusness
Then, just as quickly as it had come...it was gone...

Shaking...I went back inside and told my GF what had happened.
As I was finishing the story...it happened again.

Fortunately, she was good in a crisis, and we quickly were in a dentists office.
I got shot up full of novocane, and they yanked what was left out of my wisdom tooth that had come in absess.

I bled a lot...was given some vicodin..(whoohoo) and two days later was just fine.

But since then I have never on this earth experienced pain of that nature.
Until then I didnt realize what true pain really was.

My friend and I had gone to his place after a movie. In the backyard there was a tyre swing, I was dubious but he assured me it would hold my weight. I got on, swung off and mid-flight the rope snaped. I thudded into the ground, bottom left rear molar shattered and I spat out fragments of teeth. I had a root canal drilling experience. Apparently 90% of root canals don't involve drilling directly into the nerve, I was one of the lucky 10%. He said it needed a specialist and he couldn't do it himself, so he just put a temp cover on it. "Two days tops" he informed me the cover would last. That was in September, 2000 and it's still in use. I should do something about it, it is wearing away.

I had a chunk of my tooth fall out.It was a nasty experience. I put up with the pain for a few days, I even sat an exam with it. Thankfully the examiner gave me extra time because he saw how much agony I was in...

Only sipping water relieved it, and that was only for a couple of minutes. I didn't know any dentists in the area, and doubted if they'd give me emergency treatment anyway, so I had to go to emergency at the dental hospital and wait for like an hour. I had the option of coming back for a root canal, but was in so much pain I just asked him to rip the tooth out... Felt MUCH better afterwards, despite having a paralysed face for a few hours and bleeding everywhere.

Wisdom teeth! In the old days, when cave people added sand to their meat the wisdom tooth got worn away. Now, just a another liability.
