It is about 7:30 right now, and I have been up since about a quarter till 7:00. I personally don't know how all of you morning people do it because I am absolutely miserable.

That's why I don't go to a single 8am lecture. Or to many of the 9am classes...

There's two kinds of people
(1) Morning people - sleep early
(2) Night people - hate waking up early

I'm a night person.

I get up every morning for 7:30 so I can catch the morning episode of Megas XLR. Sleep doesn't bother me. :D

It's 10:20 Pm where i am but yes, getting up in the mornings is terrible. Especially as you see your siblings getting out of bed as you walk out the door.

Just yesterday, I woke up at 7:00 (after a rough sleep...I got about 4 hours, but that was my fault for staying on the computer too late), because I had to be at uni by 9. I got home at about 4, had lunch, and left for work an hour later. I didn't get home until 10:30 that night. :(

Good thing that's only once a week or so.

I am undoubtedly a night person. I regularly stay up until 12AM or even later not realizing the time, and then complain when I have to wake up at 6:30. During weekends I'm rarely up before 10:00 and rarely down before midnight.

Every second week I have to do a 9-5 day in East Fucking Kew. The tram ride takes FOREVER, and they aren't too frequent. Plus I need to walk to get a second connecting tram that goes to my place, or rather across the gardens from my place. By the time I get home I just want to die... But of course, dinner needs cooking. I'm glad I don't work nights though. Have a cookie,

I'm generally neither a morning or a night person, I like to go to bed early and I like to get up late, except when I'm going to a party or something obviously, then I go to bed late

Yay! That will replace the dinner I skipped yesterday too :p

It's not so bad. Just a pain in the arse...because some weeks, I work 5 days a week as well as uni. Good thing they're only 5 hour shifts. And it's not slaving over molten metal or mining coal by hand at least, I suppose.

Yech for that tram trip though. Some days, I have to catch a bus to the train station, catch a train to clayton, catch a bus from clayton to uni, then when coming home, I have to catch a different bus that takes twice as long (because the bus doesn't go back to the original stop, go figure), then wait at the train station for half an hour (because the scheduling is configured so that my train pulls out just as the bus gets there, forcing me to wait for the next one), then catch the train back home, then catch another bus home again. If I can get a lift to the train station it's easier. I need my drivers licence, but I don't get time to practice

If that sounds like a confusing mess, you know how my brain feels. :p

Try a few years in the Army, and you'll be stuck waking up between 4:30 and 5 AM for the rest of your life, even if you try to sleep late when you're a civilian.

Of course, I go to bed rather early, so I'm still probably getting more sleep than you are.

I'm a morning person. I get up about 6:30 usually, make a cup o kohi and sit down to browse the daily news on Drudge, Instapundit or Fark.
The a bit on NS, then maybe a bit of Civ3 or HOI.

I have a car (which is being sold), but no licence :p

And they aren't 8 hour shifts, or anything...only 5 hours. To be more accurate as well, usually it's only 3 or 4 shifts during a uni semester. This week and last week have been busy though. *sigh*

I'm getting in on the tutoring racket.. It pays really well and I can do one-two hour sessions. But the money isn't really enough...

There were quite a few reasons why I didn't feel the army was for me and that was one of them (albeit not very high on the list).

But I actually did get a decent amount of sleep (for me), it's just that I cannot function early in the morning regardless of sleep.

I get in a comfortable rut and stick with it. ( I'm assuming those two are bloggers, I seem to remember a One Hand Clapping)

Fark

maybe National Review and the odd visit to Ann Coulter if I feel frisky. Hunter Thompson is dead so I lost that one.

I agree. It's horrible. I can hardly think clearly in the morning, and sometimes have hard to keep my eyes open when I wake up somewhat early. But then, I only sleep 5-6 hours (sometimes 4 hours) a day except for on weekends and holidays. I usually go to bed when I can't think clearly anymore, and find myself unable to concentrate on writing forum messages, gaming, programming etc. I am also pretty tired when waking up early even if I have had enough sleep however, altought not nearly as much.

I imagine. I sponge off parents...so I usually end up with ample money. Then again, having your own apartment must be good. I'd like a bit more independence, but i'm stuck here for now. Maybe in a year or two :)

I'm not a morning person. Slept in until 3:30PM today... Of course, I'm on holidays, only have TAFE classes in the arvo (the earliest I ever have to get up is about 11am for a TAFE class at 1pm (have shower, get dressed, WAKE UP, caffeine fix, have lunch.

Currently my meal order is Lunch - Dinner - Breakfast...

I'm not a morning person, neither am I a early sleeper. I'm an afternoon napper :D.

Really.. I suffer from lack of sleep especially days which I have afternoon classes. I go for early classes as possible so I can come home and take a nap. Because honestly in Malaysia it's too hot to study or be effective in the afternoon. I do most of my work at night and stay till the wee hours of the morning.
