Except a Doujin was a Trimarian Battlecarrier. This one is still a single hull. Its smaller too.
Truth to be told, I was thinking of selling it on International Incidents once I finished texturing it (something I suck at).

Thats why I said neutered, i.e. lack of two outrunners*. (extra hulls in trimerians...)*
The model looks really kickass... just needs some nice texture work.

You should do. I really need to head back there one day. Plus I could do with some battleships. If you can get the textures right, people will be so thrown by the cool picture they'll buy hundreds of ships without realising.

too bad the watercooling system isnt hooked up to anything...and the cpu heatsinks look distorted :| most likely because the fins on them have no thickness X(

(I'll be a lot more interested if you did it without resorting to purchase -or- piracy. I'm thinking of using Celestia for artwork stuff, but if 3DS is the only way to get things in, it won't fly....)

You don't need courses to learn something. The best 3D guy I've ever known has never taken a single course in it. For me it was just a part of my AV-production studies. A little bit of everything to get some idea what you can do with them.

The problem is finding enough samples to take apart to figure out how they work, and putting them back together again that is.
Guides would be handy in the trickier things such as lighting effects and how to get a cloth to act like one.
Durnit, I can take that job offer if I just knew a bit more.

I've found some tutorials for lighting (can't remember any sites, it was years ago, one free tutorial site was 3d cafe or something like that) but cloths...that really is hard. I wish you luck with your efforts.

I used Wings 3D to make it, and yes, that is a 3ds thing i made.
