Ouch! Not good. :(

My worst injury was in a military parachute jump gone bad. Shatterd my right femur and broke my right foot in several places. I've got about 2 lbs. of metal holding it all together now.

You both have me beat. I have two minor incidents. One time I got flipped off of a bike and broke my right arm and a finger on my left hand. Another time I broke my right ankle on a short hike and had to limp back to my car up the side of a small mountain.

either the time i ran into a glass wall and nearly lost my finger or when i broke my baby toe by dropping a webster's dictionary on it.... i just left it broken, couldn't be bothered with going to the doctor

Hmmm hard decision

The stab was bad but healed fast and easy

I would have to say shattered femur or when I cut my finger off lol

My two worst injuries were when I messed up my back doing a 12 mile march.

I couldn't sit up, and had to walk hunched over.

My other one was when I dislocated my elbow skiing. They pumped me full of demoral. That was awesome.

Had my leg caught in a faulty escalator. Kinda cut open my foot really bad. HAd to have like 21 operations, and microsurgery, taking veins from side ribs, and skin from my thigh.

I sometimes set them off when they're set really high, but usually no problem.

My parachute opened fine, it was a clear, calm day with almost no wind, and the landing zone was open with no trees or other obstacles. For some unknown reason, I just lost about 2/3 of the air in my chute at about 20' AGL ( Above Ground Level ), dropped like a stone, promptly forgot all my training and didn't have time to recover, landed with most of my weight on my right leg ( due to uneven ground ). I was not amused!

Broken Heart!
My (NOW) Ex-wife left me a note, ran off to be with another guy, stole my kids, and left me with over $100,00 in bills. :headbang:

My brother threw about a 15 pound rock at my head when I was six. Cracked me on the top of my head. Had over 50 stitches, and now I have a huge bald spot back there that you can see when my hair is cut real close.

Sorry, but I was never in the 82nd. I was with ISFG on Okinawa, attached to 5SFG in Vietnam, the 173rd Abn. Bde. ( Separate ) in Vietnam, an Instructor at JFK SWS, Fort Bragg, but never got to be with the 82nd. I had the accident when I was jumping with a Reserve unit out of Greensboro, NC.

My worst would have to be when I slipped on some papers and hit the back of my head against my bedframe. You know those THICK wooden bedframes. I busted my skull open and I laid my head on a pillow and blood totally soaked it. I never went to the doctor to get it checked out, but I think I'm smarter because of it.

I had two good ones before I even turned twenty.

In a car accident,I hit a telephone pole head on at 40 mph. Put my face through the windshield, one eye took the rear view mirror off on the way through and was shut for a week-at the emergency room, they thought it had been destroyed. Through and through wound below lower lip where my mouth hit the steering wheel. Broke my collar bone, shoulder and 4 ribs and badly bruised my knees on the underside of the dash.Bruised valves in my heart as well as my liver. Started walking home (4am) til the police and ambulance caught with me a 1/2 mile down the road.
Got bad food poisoning a week after being released and had the pleasure of vomitting with broken ribs.

A year later, I was attacked and bitten by a large dog (135 lbs) that I was taking care of. He bit through both hands and was working his way up my arms as I tried to hold him off and get away. I had a dozen bone deep punture wounds, torn wide open as when he bit down, he shook his head from side to side. Lost a lot of blood and couldnt be stitched as the doctor opted to make the wounds heal from the inside outward. This involved antibiotic whirlpools twice a day. And all the rabies shots too.

Compressed the bones in my wrist a few weeks back, but it seems to be fine now.

Also when I was going down a hill on my bike, my front wheel went into a pipe trench, throwing me forward over the bike. I had a helmet on, but the bike, with its wheel still in the trench, went up and over like a catapault, the wheel serving as the axis. The bike comes down on me, and the gears dig into my chest. I was fine save some other cuts and some grease from the gear and chain. Had to hump it over to my friend's house to get patched up. Still have the scar...

Vietnam? Oh man, you came along way way before me. I was a cherry. All I did was training jumps when I was stationed with the 82nd.

I once had first and second degree burns on my ass.

Other than that I've led a mostly injury-free life.

It was awesome getting doped up lol.

The doctor was scared that I would fling her across the room if I felt too much pain so they doped me up and help me down.

Its something when you're in agony and there is no end in sight for the pain-ie: you're covered from head to toe in your own blood or you can see a bone- and then the blessed shot in the ass of demerol and you feel the pain just rinse away...
I have a pretty high tolerence level for pain and have endured quite a bit, but there comes a point when you've had enough and really cant take it anymore.

I rode my bike off a cliff and hit a tree on the way down. 22 stitches, a cracked rib and a dislocated hip.

Another time I got badly beaten up by the psychotic brother of my girlfriend. Dislocated shoulder, broken nose, several broken ribs, concussion, and badly bruised testicles. :(

I'm glad my little girl has two older brothers to rough up the guys I wont like. That might save a few from dissapearing into holes in the woods.

has to be the 3rd time I dislocated my right shoulder - not because of the nature of the injury but because my right shoulder now pops out a little whenever it feels like it and it hurts like hell

1. Dislocated shoulder (playing football .. i shed tears .. it hurt terribly)

2. Broken ankle (sliding into second base -- "Just walk it off man!" .. "Uhhh, I can't.")

3. Torn meniscus (actually didn't hurt that badly when it tore... and i didn't realize i'd torn it. So I went the entire summer with a sore knee thinking it was just a sprain, until I finally went in to see the doc and he told me about it... then had arthroscopic surgery on it. Doc said the meniscus was torn so that some of the cartilage had made a sort of loop around the other stuff in my knee... no wonder it was sore).

:( Wow! Apparently I'm a wusse. The worst I've ever had in my 45 year short life, is falling off a 6' ladder onto an 18" thick stack of paneling, hitting the back of my left knee on the edge and getting a bruise that wrapped itself completely around my whole leg.

That happened while working as an electrician, been zapped a few times have had electric motor windings blow up in my face(not little motors either, 10,000 HP).

Been through some horrendous motor vehicle accidents and always walked away.

Charmed? Nahhhh...just stupidly lucky. Absolutely no broken bones either.

I keep trying, but all I get is bruised, must be that German stock in my genes...

The only major scar I got is the one left from having my appendix removed when I was 9.

When I was 11 y/o I was playing sharks and minnows and swam into one of the pool walls. Knocked both my front teeth out :(.

To this day I have two chunks of plaster where my front teeth should be. At least they look real.

That's also the most pain I'ver ever felt. Imagine a cold March breeze blowing past the open and exposed roots where your teeth used to be   .

The worst injury would either be when I broke my leg when falling off my bike going over a jump, or the four broken ribs, dislocated shoulder, massive bruising, sprained ankle, and huge gashes on my shins from a body check in a friendly rugby match during training two years ago. Guy ran into my whilst not looking, stomped on my leg, and fell on top of me. To say I wasn't impressed would be an understatement.
