I taught we could have a vote for one alltime Nobel peace
price. Actually we could have three categories.

Alltime Nobel: Everybody gets one vote. It can be any person
from history. It would be nice if you could give us some
explanitation.

Nobel for 2005: Person who has devoted his/her work for
peace in recent history. Unlike above you can't nominate
previous winner.

NS Nobel: Who is the peace guardian in NS? Who makes
the most effort to keep this this forum peaceful?

Here is a link:

My votes:

Alltime Nobel: Gandhi. He fought injustice and violence
without violence. In my book that is ultimate peace
'strategy'!

Nobel for 2005: Martti Ahtisaari. Finnish ex-president who
has been in numerous conflicts as a negotiator between
'trouble makers'. Including North Ireland, Irak and
Indonesia (currently). Here is more:

NS Nobel: I haven't been here enough to vote.

All time:
Buddha, for creating a religion that truly believes in peace and tolerance, and practising what it preaches. (Unlike Christianity for example)

2005:
I don't think he's already recieved one, but what do I know? My vote goes to U2's frontman Bono, for doing so much for the third world, and for peace.

NS:
Lunatic Goofballs, for trying to bring humour to these all too often serious boards.

All-time: the Catholic Church, for maintaining the heritage of the Roman Empire during the Middle Ages, for putting an end to slavery in the West, for promoting peace and human dignity.

2005: Benazir Bhutto, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, the first woman to lead a Muslim country, who was evicted after a coup and is still living in exile. I can't believe she hasn't been given that prize yet, which goes to show how ridiculous it is.

NS: I dunno, I've only been here a couple days.

I vote for Mr Alfred Nobel himself, for his provocative work inventing Dynamite in 1866 at his factory in Krümmel, Germany. It did much to advance world peace, and inspired generations of American citizenry to devote their lives to the cause of... blasting for oil.

I kid you not

Hard one. But a good idea. I'm a bit in a hurry so I'll just mention some names, I'll decide later.

Alltime: Gandhi, Buddha, Jesus there are quite many

2005: maybe to someone in India or Pakistan. Not Martti Ahtisaari (maybe from his previous work but not this year's)

NS: not too many candidates. Borgoa.

You are right in the Ahtisaari business. I think he was
nominated couple years back. And for those achievments
I wanted to Nominate him. He would never actually get
a Nobel so here is his chance.

I dunno. I'm yet to see anyone worthy of a Peace prize here...

However, I think The head of the monster raving loony party should get an award for putting humor in UK politics.

My vote for all time winner would have to be Lester B Pearson. This one man stopped a nuclear war by himself, and his peacekeepers still save lives today, helping to end conflicts all over the world. Many people are worthy of mention here, many have accomplished great things, but Lester B. Pearson has my vote.

As to 2005 and NS, I don't yet know who I would vote for, If I decide, I will post it then.
