For me it was LOTR: Return of the King a few weeks ago.

I love everything about that movie.

Sin City was the last great film I saw. It was a fantastic movie, not to mention a work of art.

Sahara was very good - Action packed, serious, yet with plenty of chuckles, in a kind of Indiana Jones fashion.

Al Giordino is the comedy relief, but he isn't stupid comic relief.

I liked The Ring 2 and will be seeing Sahara this week.

Do you know how that holds up to the original?

I'm really want to see it, but no luck yet :(

Last good film for me.

Deadman or Cube II, (I'm still in two minds about the latter)

I've been wanting to watch Sin City because of the way it was filmed, but I'm not a big Rodriguez fan. Seeing Jessica Alba dancing just..WOW

I'll have to watch Sahara one of these days. It looks like a good sleeper hit.

My friend Jill said The Ring 2 was funny because there were so many stupid parts. But it was also somewhat scarier.

I dunno. You'll have to see it yourself to find out.

The last totally awesome movie I saw was "Office Space". I can't wait for Revenge of the Sith to come out. If it sucks though, it will ruin the whole series.

Didn't that come out in like 1984?

Sin City, hands down. Even if you dont care for the story there is no denying the cinematic genius contained therein. Every shot is crafted to perfection, and the movie remains more faithful to the original comic book medium than any other movie-from-comic art I've ever seen in my life.

Sin City has my vote for best theatrical release since Pulp Fiction. It may, in time, overcome Pulp Fiction in my book if it stands up to a dozen or more viewings. But I've seen it 5 times and I love it more and more the more I watch it, so look out Tarantino.

Shultze Gets the Blues, Sin City, and Downfall where all seen within a few days of each other, and I liked all three for differing reasons.

Sin City sort of provides a 'proof of concept' for a way I've been thinking about film recently. I think that constructing the stories as a whole could have been a little better, but Tarintino I think has been twisting my expectations in that regard.

Shultze Gets the Blues was a fairly charming film. A different approach to a simple tale. No way a mainstream film would let something develop that slowly with so little dialog. Everyonce in a while thats nice.

Downfall-I know there was some concern that this film might 'humanize' Hitler too much, but maybe it's just me, but loving his dog and being nice to his secretary does not make up for what he does in that movie, much less in history. There's a speech in there by Goebbles that chills to the bone. Regarding the civilians that will be caught in the Russian assault: "I have no sympathy. I repeat, I have no sympathy. We did not force this on the German people. They gave us a mandate. And now they are getting their little throats cut." Fuck.

You don't end up feeling sorry for them. You have a feeling, it's not joy, it's not sympathy. Perhaps it's empathy with no sympathy. A feeling of regret-not that they died but that it came to that. Maybe thats it. It's a pretty interesting film, and I'm not a WWII buff or military fetishist or anything like that.

See, I went on the assumption that the question really implied what was the last good movie you saw in theatres. I've seen better movies at home since, but Life Aquatic was the last really good movie I've gone to the theatre to see.

Well, saying this will only show that for my age demographic I am not going to the cinema nearly as often as I ought to... but the last good movie I have seen in theatre, was 'I Heart Huckabees'.

It's an incredible movie, brilliantly written, directed and acted - that is, if you're into existentiallism. If you aren't, you may still find yourself entertained, but I think ulimately the ones who will appreciate this movie most for it's intelligence and it's sophisticated humor, will be those who are already enthusiastic about the subject. It is, to the best of my knowledge, the only movie that really uses this philosophical standpoint as a plot - and it does so quite well. There really is something in it for everyone though, and I recommend watching it very highly.

The benie of living in hippy town-we have more art theaters than mainstream theaters. Though screen-wise I think it's a push.

Though I have to wait to see Kung Fu Hustle...and I think I missed my 'Steamboy' window.

Don't worry, I've seen it too. Saw it last year when I was flying over to HK. Have the DVD too. Denzel Washington is one nasty mutha in it. the fingers taped to the sterring wheel, the pliers, the cigarette lighter to cautherise the wound...could he get any nastier?
Oh, wait, he does. CS explosive on a timer shoved up a guy's arse to get him to confess. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
I thought at the end when he was in the car with the kidnappers that he had done the CS EX trick on himself, in order to wipe them all out. That would have been a cool ending.

Lisa: What are you gonna do?
Creasy: What I do best. I'm gonna kill 'em. Anyone that was involved. Anybody who profited from it. Anybody who opens their eyes at me.

As for me, the last good movie I saw at the cinema was "A very long engagement" by Jeunet. Great movie, just great.
The last good movie I saw was "The Big Liebowski" last weekend, again. Wonderful quirky superbly acted film.
