Why do you think?

I'm pulling for Baltimore. They're due. :D

The Twins have the pitching and the defense and expect them to have more power than they have had in years. Johan Santana will be the Cy Young award winner again this year.

until they do away with the dh, the american league doesn't really play baseball, so who wins makes very little difference.

There are teams with better hitting, there are teams with better defense, there are teams with better starting pitching, and there are teams with better bullpens. But nobody is as good in every one of those areas as the Angels. They run the bags better than anybody, too, and wrap it up with the most unhittable man to ever close a game. K-Rod's slider is just filthy.

They've got an incredibly deep farm system, too. Just like in the magical '02 season, the Haloes will bring up a couple rookies who will make a big impact when rosters expand in August... if not sooner.

As for the National League... for those who like seeing an easy out bat ninth every day, that's fine. Why not just have your grandpa go up to the plate and swing the lumber while you're at it? Maybe he'll take one in the pacemaker and you'll inherit that coveted Elvis plate collection early.

Whoever does win doesn't stand a chance vs. the Cubs, in any case.

They can do anything they put their minds to.

I'm betting on the Angels this year.

Gotta love the Twinkies. No other team does so much with so little money. The Twins develop their players through an incredible farm system and then end up fielding teams with very few "name" players who all play their positions extremely well.

This certainly isn't the Twins of the early 90's, when you had a load of recognizable names....of course they were still not paying what the rest of the league was at that time, ending up causing a horrid stretch of teams for several years.

Because Billy Beane's the best GM in sports, Oakland.

No, he isn't. He is so over rated. He was blessed to have a farm system that produced the likes of Zito, Mulder and Hudson. He had Giambi and Tejada and couldn't get over the play off hump with them.

What exactly did he do to make them successful? Keep his young talent from jumping ship to bigger markets? Nope, that is what has been happening.

Its gotta be the Blue Jays this season. They got a real power hitter and a real power pitcher. Some real haevy sitters and one really good outfielder and shortstop. Their pinch hitting is to die for and with team colors like that, I mean, wow.

I really do like the Blue Jays, I just don't know anything about baseball this years, or for any of the past 15 years for that matter. Just wanted to be a big man.

You got Grimsley on the DL for quite a while. It'll only get worse. If I were going to bet, it would be on the Sox. The Red Sox, that is... I think the Sox have a team that has really handled the Yankees and can handle Baltimore. That division is going to be tough.

The Blue Jays all the way.... everyone says they can't win with Delgado taking off however, I beg to differ. If Hinskie, Koskie and Wells play to their potential, the starting pitching will be fine, the only real question in my mind is the bullpen but I suspect the Jays will pick up another arm or two for the pen(they really need another lefty).

On a related note: Has anyone seen how well Chacin is pitching? My god, he's been lights out so far, holding the Rangers to two hits last week, and keeping the Yankees at bay for quite a period(before taking the loss, d'oh!). I think he's definately a rookie of the year candidate allready.
