A while ago I installed Black and White. Some time afterwards it got deleted in a frenzy of file killing. Now I can't install it, it seems to think it is still installed, and when I try to use the add/remove programs menu to remove it I get an error message:

UNHANDLED EXCEPTION
Description: Failed to load Dll: E

Setup will now terminate.

Any help?

Hunt down the installled directory ... delete (where the game was installed to)

Run a registry cleaner like regclean or run through and delete anything that looks like it is from black and white

Have you tried hitting it with a stick or bat?

Have you tried hitting it with a stick or bat?

Throwing a bowling ball at the computer is normally good.

A small fire should exorcise the deamons in your PC, failing that go for the standard catch all solution: Format C: drive :p

Well obviously your missing some important game file that was either 1. did not install correctly. 2. somehow got deleted.
Track down the game folder and delete it that way. Then run regedit and delete the registry entries.
Or you could try reinstalling and then uninstalling it.

Have you tried running the CD and uninstalling the program that way? (It sometimes works... ;))

Seriously: If the CD thinks the program is already installed, it can "uninstall" it, then reinstall it afterwards.

Or get a new computer; that at least ought to work.

I use regedit for just such problems. The program is gone, thats why it wont let you remove it - its just that your computer thinks its still there. Just find any site (should be tons of them) that have the regedit.exe file available. (google it, I would but Im too lazy)

there are lots of free sites, such as this (http://www.registryfix.com/?hop=pccleaner2) one, which scan your computer for such useless registries, and for such occasions. Just be careful what you remove.

I have two two step plans:
1)Reinstall.
2)Uninstall.

Or

1)Delete everything associated.
2)Ignore what you can't

It happened to me once, and a system restore fixed it.
