The Rowan Atkinson Appreciation Thread!

An entire thread dedicated to the best in British comedy, Rowan Atkinson. For those not familiar with him, I can recommend two of his sketches, the Hell Sketch (http://www.maths.tcd.ie/~afarrell/things/Hell.html) and the Fatal Beatings (http://www.rowanatkinson.org/fatalbeatings.htm) sketch.
Also he's well known for Blackadder, Mr Bean, and The Thin Blue Line.

So come praise one of the best British (and therefore one of the best) comedians, in my opinion, ever. All Hail Rowan Atkinson!

(feel free to quote any of your favourite quotes of his, name your favourite episodes from your favourite shows or just applaud this brilliant comedian.)

The scene in Blackadder III (?) where he tries to convine the general that he's gone mad.

"Wibble!"

:p

<--- EDIT: What the heck does that mean?

Sorry Atkinson fans. I have to say this...
Blackadder is great. No harm there, but after that only
respectful thing from him was Hot Shots 2

Ah, being good and going to heaven. You see, the thing about heaven is that heaven is for people who like the sort of things that go on in heaven. Like, well, singing, talking to God, watering pot plants.

Then again, I'm as poor as a church mouse, that's just had an enormous tax bill on the very day his wife ran off with another mouse, taking all the cheese.

Oh, Edmund, I am sorry -- I had no idea. But do not despair, for I have some small savings carefully harvested from my weekly allowance, set aside against my frail old age. By lucky haps, it is just over a thousand, methinks, and has for years has been hidden beyond the wit of any thief, in an old sock......under the squeaky floorboard......behind the kitchen dresser.

You've seen it!

A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.

I love Mr. Bean and the Blackadder shows. My personal favorite was the Mr. Bean sketch where he was in that hotel.

Then again, as cool as Rowan is, he is still better with people to work against - I don't find Mr. Bean as funny as Blackadder or not the nine o'clock news. Baldric in Blackadder, Smith&Jones in NtNO'CN (??)...

I think Rowan Atkinson is one of the best comics of our day. "Bean: The ultimate disaster movie" was probably the funniest thing I have ever seen in the cinemas.

He also went to Oxford, which is a plus point!

(Blackadder) When I mentioned that he probably went to one of the big universities, Oxford, Cambridge or Hull, you failed to spot that only two of those are major universities.

(Melchett) Thats right, Oxfords a complete dump!

Well, it is said, Percy, that civilized man seeks out good and intelligent company, so that, through learned discourse, he may rise above the savage and closer to God.

Yes, I've heard that.

Personally, however, I like to start the day with a total dickhead to remind me I'm best.

'nuff said, really.

And wanting some privacy makes him an arse? As opposed to someone trying to live as normal a life as he can? Not all people are David "Look! A camera, how's my hair?" Beckham. Frankly, I respect him for that. It proves he isn't an egoist, which is a fate that has befallen many celebrities.
