Everyone, how is this poem. I am only 11 so keep that in mind.

Iraq

A mess
a mudhole
worse,
another Nam
over one thousand
of the soldiers
dead
for a worthless cause.
First, the WMDs
“Iraq is a threat”
said Bush
lies
UN goes in
finds no weapons.
Bush says
“Hussein is hiding them”
goes in
no declaration of war
Fast forward
one & one half years
no weapons
strike one
Next, to liberate
the Iraqis

“They will love us”
says Bush
Love? No
suicide bombers,
snipers,
machine gunnists
attacking
We are the invaders
civilians go in
to help
get kidnapped,
killed
cries to governments to pull out
Most do
Not us
Elections coming up
“They love democracy”
They don’t know democracy
don’t want democracy
This is a Mockracy
we can’t win
Mr. Bush
pull out
before something worse

not really a poem at all... more of an exercise in minimal word useage.

Pfft. That's gotta be a spoof. New poster posting a slur most Democrats would be embarrassed to have written... This wouldn't be the first time.

we can’t win

Fewer people believe this every day. Time will tell, won't it?

I sense a little indoctrination. I think you should try doing a little research instead of just reading what comes across the tv screen.

First of all, I don't really see it as poetry, but then I would be extremely surprised to find poetry written by someone below the age of 16, and in my experience no one below the age of 20 writes poetry that is good, so that's nothing against you. As for your message, I think its terrible evidence of the evil effect of mass media and a leftist education system upon our children's minds.

The evil effect of mass media? But there's no mention of Bennifer, the Passion of the Christ, Teri Schivo, the funerals of Ronnie Reagon and the pope, Janet Jackson's teat, the Madonna-Brittney(and Christina Agulara) Kiss, Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson or the Jenn and Brad break-up!

Heh... someone who doesn't live in America then... and the further South in America you go, the more conservative both the mass media and education system become. Oh... and I'm a product of that "leftist education system"... heh... leftist Texan... kind of an oxymoron, don't'cha think? I don't think there is a leftist school system within 500 miles of where I live.

Texas – You got me there. Guess what I meant was “the mass news network.”

/doesn't watch TV

Mezibaina – I don't quite follow you, if you're trying to make a point anyway. Can you clarify?

submit it to your school newspaper or find a poetry contest for people your age to send it to. they might love it, you never know.
