Okay, I think we all know that I'm a wee bit addictid to Halo. For those who don't know, I think I should tell you that I'm a wee bit addicted to Halo. My several page examination of Legendary Elites and my step-by-step guide on Unlimited Ammo is more than enough to prove this. So is the fact that I waited in line for six hours just so I could be first in line to buy Halo2 (Boy, wasn't my face red when nobody else showed up until a half hour before it went on sale, making the other five and a half hours rather pointless). We're all clear on my Halo addiction? Good.

In addition, I think we're clear on my addiction to the Halo-based web-series, Red Vs. Blue (www.redvsblue.com). The fact that I've transcribed entire seasons of the show and posted them here, complete with pictures from the various episodes, adequately illustrates that point. So, everybody here knows of my Halo addiction and my obsession with Halo-based productions? Dandy.

Now, I have the bad luck of having another addiction thrown on top of the previous two. Damnit, I've found yet one more Halo-based production to drool on and spend hours obsessing over, The Codex (www.thecodexseries.com). A combat series, opposed to the comedy of Red Vs. Blue, The Codex follows the adventures of the second group of SPARTAN II super soldiers in training by the UNSC as they attempt to prevent the Covenant from discovering and harnessing the power of, you guessed it, the codex. Nine episodes have been released, in addition to the trailer, and a new episode is released every Wednesday. I only found out about The Codex yesterday, Friday, and I have already downloaded and watched all the episodes. I tell you, I'm hooked already.

So, in addition to the hours that I spend playing both Halo and Halo2, on top of the hours I spend watching past seasons of Red Vs. Blue and eagerly searching their site for new downloads, I now have another web-site to piss away my life. I tell you, I'm not going to get a single stitch of work done at all next semester.

Cool. I guess they haven't figured out how to get rid of the target on Halo 2 like Rooster Teeth.

Oh, they have. It's mentioned in their FAQ and the later episodes don't have the reticle (They started making them before the glitch was commonly known)

Uh....yeah. There's a glitch in the game that allows you to drop all weapons, that's how you end up with no targeting reticle. It was discovered by people and they told other people, and Red Vs. Blue and The Codex started using it. That's why earlier episodes in both series have the reticle and the later episodes don't.

If you like all that, you'll love Pucoon Wars. It'll be great, though it hasn't been released yet - funny, like RvB, but with serious parts too - and machinama filmed with Halo2 (primarily, we'll be using the first one when needed). [/shamelessplug] :D

Copy/Paste from the RvB FAQ

Q: How do you get your characters to point their weapons down and how do you get characters to hold nothing and how do you get rid of the reticle?
A: If you want a character to point their weapon down, you just have to hit down on the d-pad. The process to get a character to drop their weapon and to get rid of the reticle is identical. Start an oddball or assault game. Have the character hold a charged plasma pistol then walk over the skull or bomb. Hold X to pick up the skull or bomb then step back as you do so. Your character will drop everything he is holding and be left with nothing in his hands.
