Amid all of the news stories about the catholic church and the death and legacy of the pope, one fact has been reiterated alot and Im surprised that nobody has picked up on the fact that the statement sets the church (and all of christendom) in a very interesting and telling light

the fact is this, that over the last half century, the centers for catholicism (and consequently all of christianity because wherever the jesuits go, so do the LDS, bornagains and other denoms) have shifted from Europe and north America to south America, Africa, and Asia, in so few words, most christians live in the third world!!!!


this says several things about christendom.

1. It is socialistic (appeals to the poor and downtrodden, they are promised eternal life for a life of deprivation and penitence)


and


2. it appeals to the IGNORANT AND BACKWARDS AND SUPERSTITIOUS

I agree with your first point, not quite the second.

i perhaps could have rephrased it in a less vicious way (maybe its the caps?) but for the most part, i cant apologize for the statement. Christianity has a way of polarizing people, like its US (the saved) versus THEM (the unwashed heathens) and its like this annoyingly nihilistic little gnat in the side of serious religious debate, it removes all questions and just gives an answer (JESUS! OR ELSE!) and says it with a sacharine smile (which compounds the madness)

Other way around. Since Europe is in decline both economically and culturally as it continues its transformation into Eurabia, it shows that Christianity is of the future while atheism is nothing more than a Death Cult on its way to extinction. Thus we see that atheists tend to be ignorant and backwards and superstitious.

Sucks to be an atheist, doesn't it? ^_~
