Gharwar oil field has peaked (http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/08B97BCF-7BE6-4F1D-A846-7ACB9B0F8894.htm)

That was just Saudi Arabia largest oil field.

Anyone here is familiar with the concept of peak oil? I've been following the concept for quite some time, and despite the lunacy ramblings of some people, some of the dire consequences are quite plausible and expectable.

Well, Australia has capped wells because some country wanted it so.
There are more reserves around.

Our environment is still all stuffed up though.

its not exactly that there isn't more oil around. it has to do with production rates.
