What in the world is up with all the popularity contests? Is this board supposed to be an internet high school simulator? As if the popularity contests werent bad enough, there is a vibe going on that somehow the more posts you have made, the higher your status is. What in the world is up with that? Ive actually read people complaining about their post count being lowered as if post count had some significance. Who are you people that are so concerned with internet popularity? Are you the internet version of the cheerleaders and jocks from high school? Perhaps most importantly, do you realize how pathetic those posts make you look?

Ive seen several in the last few days. Theres one still up on the front page now asking what you think about a specific person. There was another recently that got really big for people who want to brag about their post count.

uhuh. Sounds to me like a prime example. and YOU responded to it!

I love popularity contests. Especially the one where I was the only recognisable poster on the list.

I hate popularity contests of any shape or size, becuase I always lose. :(

I don't really pay much attention to such things.

I mess around. People laugh. I mess around with YOU, Everybody else laughs. Eventually, you do too.

If you don't like those threads, there are still plenty of people that hate the social threads and prefer the debate topics instead. They're really quite easy to avoid if you dislike them that much. Live and let live, hey?
