As the title says, this does not include political leaders, even ex-political leaders. So, excluding politicians, who is the most evil person alive? My vote goes to either Fred Phelps (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Phelps) or Bart McQueary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bart_McQueary).

Actually, La Vey was never intending to be evil. He was basically making an exclusive club for the elite to join. The name and all of the practices were mostly meant to piss off Catholics. In a way, all he was doing was making a social commentary. The majority of the people I have met that are part of the Church of Satan are atheists.
