COME TO BELGIUM,COME TO BELGIUM

Hey I've got something to say
I live in a land where it’s easy to stay
Man, you should try it here
All is OK, very good beer
We're happy in many ways
Just like "The Fonz" in the Happy Days
All is say : Jump a plane
Take a train
Move your ass

COME TO BELGIUM,COME TO BELGIUM

Now your attention please
There's a couple of things I want you to see
Bring cash, lots af cash
Everything you buy is very expensive
Enjoy your rental car
Traffic jams, you won't get far
We're used to be confused in this beautiful land
But that's no excuse

Mad Cow / Sick pig
Lamb Chops / Steak for everybody
Combats / Riot gangs / Robbing banks
And getting killed while shopping
Hormones / Body-bags
French Fries & Mayonnaise
New King / New Queen
With a smile for everybody

COME TO BELGIUM,COME TO BELGIUM

Belgium makes your dreams alive
Belgium compromises
Belgium takes your dreams away

It doesn't really matter if you're born on the street
You have a big car and a house on the beach
It doesn't really matter if you're born at all
Enjoy our French fries and our mayonnaise

Yea...but
Margie said, Roy you ain't listening to me
And I've got a whole lot more to say
Roy just crossed the floor and picked up his car keys
And she ain't seen or heard from him to this day

And that's why God made Mexico
A place where we can lay low
And the Cuervo goes down nice and slow
And the warm wind blows
That's why God made Mexico

And Betty fixed Joe dinner every night
At half past six
Cause that's when he rolled through that door
For sixteen years and not a thank you from his lips
She don't fix him dinner no more

And that's why God made Mexico
A place where we can lay low
Where the Cuervo goes down nice and slow
And the warm winds blow
That's why God made Mexico

Cause life is sweet in a border town
You learn to let your hair down
And you don't make trouble
You learn to dance the Fandango
You change your name, maybe change your face
Get used to beans chili paste
And you learn to live and love
Life in the slow lane

And that's why God made Mexico
A place where we can lay low
Maybe Monterey or Acapulco
Anywhere the warm winds blow
Don't you know
That's why God made Mexico

That's why God made
Made Mexico

...Plus...there isn't really a drinking age there.

Where I live, pubs won't sell hard liquer to anyone who is not yet 18.

20 years for beverages with a higher percentage than 15 or something, and you can only buy beer in the shops, wine and other liquors you have to get at the Wine Monopoly. As for "anyone" confiscating it if you carry alcohol at 15 - I have never heard of that before?

I'm not entirely sure if there is such a thing a lower age limit for Consumption of alcohol in the UK when within your own home or a beer garden.
Of course in many palces in the Uk the consumption of alcohol in public is banned anyway...

The only restrictions are on the purchase of alcohol, where it is 16 and up for wine , cider or beer with a meal and 18 and over for what ever you want, unless of course you live in the east end of glasgow where Buckfast is available to anyone whose head can be seen over the corner shop's counter...

I know this has already been mentioned, but it's 18 here in Australia. We are supposed to have a strict ID checking system, but many underage people still manage to slip through the cracks. Plus I've been drinking at home since I was about eight.

No offence Americans, but your laws are weird.

The minimum in France is definitely 16 for all types of alcohol.

There is no legal minimum in Armenia, Azerbaijan, China, Nigeria, Poland, Georgia, Thailand or Vietnam. Also some guy said that Portugal had a legal minimum, but as far as I know it doesn't.

Actually, I've convinced several cops that it's a-ok to drink after you're 16, as you've got legal control over your own body then... and it's 18: wine/beer, and 20 for booze.

Not that I've ever had any problem buying any of that. I bought my first bottle of hard booze when I was 16 :D you're supposed to show id if you're under 25 at the Wine monopoly... That was in Tromsø, tho, and they're all drunken barbarians up there anyway :P

Because of the taxation?

I've noticed that the government monopoly can also reduce the price of e.g. quality wines. Several Australian wines are cheaper in Finland than in Australia because Alko (the monopoly company) is such a big buyer compared to grocery stores.

Though technically there is no drinking age. 18 is just the age than licenced sellers are allowed to sell you alcohol.

You can also buy cider when you are 16 (which could be why a lot of scallies drink it, that and White Lightning is cheap).

IIRC, the youngest you can drink in a 'pub' is 14, if you are in a clearly designated area for food (ie a resturant part that some pubs have), and you are accompanied by a parent or guardian (though you cannot buy it, the parent/guardian must do that).
