Liberals complain about FOX News but...

Liberals complain about FOX News but they control MTV. Us conservatives may supposedly "own" a respectable News channel like FOX, but the liberals control MTV/VH1, the gateways to the teenage voters. During the election MTV outright lied and said Bush would have a draft (even though Kerry really was going to have a draft and not Bush). Their stupid "Rock the Vote" piece of **** was the most liberally partisan thing I have ever seen. MTV is dripping in liberalism. MTV encourages immoral practices like adultery, fornication, birth control, abortion, lying, drunkenness, atheism, drugs, "gangster" life, prostitution, homosexuality, selfishness, and violent gangs. I was flipping through the channels and when I pass MTV I see two sodomites making out. I was disgusted. Is that even allowed to be shown at 3:00 PM? I wouldn't want my kids seeing those sodomites make out. Then they have a pro-abortion commercial, where they spread that feminist crap about being a "right to choose." Of course like all abortionists they LEAVE OUT THAT A CHILD IS DYING. We were all fetuses (which means little one in latin) once, but MTV wanted to kill us. It also shows teens getting drunk and promotes celebrity idol worship. That may sound extreme but it's true. When a elitist walks on stage everyone flips out like he's a God. MTV has gone way too far. The liberals complain about conservative fox news, but they control the immoral station that influences the youth vote.

Commando3']I was disgusted.
I fail to sympathise with anyone that watches MTV
hint: MTV is not claiming to be a news network. Faux News is. people have this wacky idea that news networks should present primarily fact, with editorializing being secondary, and some folks object to an organization claiming it is a source of "Fair and Balanced" information when it clearly is not. MTV's most serious program is a show about 20-somethings playing frat games and cat-fighting for prize money...i highly doubt they have ever attempted to pass themselves off as a source of objective political reporting.

Yeah, but MTV promotes sodomy, which will prevent abortions because you can't get pregnant in your ass. I would think you'd like MTV for that.

First of all, cut out the profanity. Second, if I can remind you of something…TEENAGERS DON'T VOTE. THERE IS NO WAY MTV CAN AFFECT THE OUTCOME OF THE VOTE. (Maybe they ought to. I used to think the voting age should be kept at 18, but now--having seen the effects of a disastrous election [2004]--maybe it ought to be lowered.
Third of all, why on earth is homosexuality an immoral issue? What's wrong with it? What does it violate?
Fourth of all, you obviously didn't expect anyone to respond to this and were just voicing your extreme restrictive views. Therefore, please do not take offense if I refer to you as a stubborn ideologue.
Anybody older than 15 who watches MTV is too stupid to find their way to the polls.
As much as I agree that the majority of media is very left leaning I find the comparison between FOX and MTV a bit strange.
Why conservatives get so much grief for having one, I repeat one, news network on their side is beyond me. As long as people recognize the bias involved than what is the big deal?
The left has got plenty of biased news of there own. New York Times, LA Times, all three broadcast news networks, Village Voice, Moveon.org (spl?) so on and so forth.

I get all my opinions from MTV. So Ashley Simpson's pretty cool, don't you agree?

Nah, too much effort. Are you a serious, finding sources debater? Smacks of effort and effort is something I dissaprove or generally. I voice an opinion, you're free to ignore it, comment on it or dismiss it. Free to think less of me because I don't care enough to find examples. Freedom, horrible freedom. :)
I've read enough New York Times articles, LA Times articles to get a sense of their leanings. I grew up watching broadcast news every night. I got a good sense of their leaning by the time I was in junior high school.

I had an excellent idea for a news show. (Left wing extreamist) and BillO'Rilley each get 22 minutes of an hour long show to edit and narriate the days news as they like. Then they alternate turns playing their stories. That way, noone could claim that it was biased.
Yeah, and lots of people smart and old enough to want to vote think MTV is an impartial news network.

1. Spell your signature correctly.
2. I can only assume this is flamebait (although worryingly you edited it down...) as the views you propose are so utterly stupid that I find it hard to believe anyone capable of the relatively advanced motor function of clicking 'Submit' could hold them. As pointed out by numerous earlier voices of dissent, this is crap.

That's actually not such a bad idea. Two pundits, maybe Limbaugh and Frankin could each organize the day's news, present it from their perspective and then talkabout it together for a few minutes at the end adressing how each had approached the topics before. It would give people a quick and easy look at both sides views, arguements and counter arguements.

God damn you spew more crap than an elephant with a bad case of explosive diahreaa.
Here's a checklist of things you should do:
Stop insulting gay people.
Stop insulting the pro-choice people.
Stop insulting the left.
Stop telling ME what's moral. Not everyone is Christian. Hell, not everyone has a religion. I am not forcing you to like "adultery, fornication, birth control, abortion, lying, drunkenness, atheism, drugs, "gangster" life, prostitution, homosexuality, selfishness, and violent gangs." Also, no one is forcing you to watch MTV.
Get that down, and we can move on to things like secularism, self-restraint in posting, using evidence in debates, and of course, basic kindness and respect 101.
Oh and FYI, MTV is not pretending to be a "fair and balanced" news network, like Fox is. That alone is a reason I see a difference. And I doubt anyone who watches for MTV clues on who to vote for is old enough to drive, or smart enough to find the polling station.

Any news organization is only as biased as their corporate masters allow them to be. To claim bias in network news reporting is insane. Who owns NBC? General Electric -- hardly a liberal organization. Who owns ABC? Well, okay, Disney, so there's ONE. And CBS? Viacom -- the profit-gouge-happy cable industry liberal? Please.
And the comparison to MTV was just plain asinine. However, exposure to ideas like promiscuity and the questions that exposure raises in kids to me is better than going through adolescence utterly ignorant of sexuality and thereby committing some really stupid mistake because of apocryphal or just plain wrong information from peers. I'd much rather have my kid come up to me and ask what a condom is or anything else they'd see on MTV than have them find out through the kids empty-headed peer group.
Besides, MTV is all about conspicuous consumption -- big cars, big houses, expensive clothing and trips -- what's more Republican than that? Not only that, but MTV is owned by a profit-lusting corporation, too (also Viacom, isn't it?) -- it's within that company's best interests to AIR WHAT SELLS COMMERCIALS AND KEEPS ASSES IN SOFAS. That's capitalism, and it gets not much more conservative than that. So you've got your own ideology and money-worship to blame for MTV, pal. Sorry.

I wouldn't consider 'The Economist' to be a right-leaning magazine, they endorsed Kerry in the 2004 U.S. election and have endorsed Democratic and Labor Party candidates for office in the past. They do, however, subscribe to a staunch neo-liberal economic policy (free markets, free trade, etc.). In regards to social policy, they favor decriminalization of drugs and prostitution, and support state-recognition of gay marriage. They did support the 2003 Iraq war but have subsequently expressed reservations.

Well, as someone who watches MTV2 about 2-3 hours of every week, I have to say that I haven't noticed any of that. Even if I did, I don't think a music television station is going to be my prime source of voting information.
However, I do support the killing of all fetuses, wanted or not, gay rights over straight rights, and the worship of good musicians. Trust me, I have felt like this for far longer than MTV has been in my life.
And I think the Daily Show with Jon Stewart may be the only left-wing equivalent of Fox News. But at least it admits its a joke.
I just met Sammantha Bee in a interview today, from the Daily Show.
The Daily Show isn't liberal, they make fun of both sides. It's just that since the Republicans are in power they tend to get more coverage, especially because they make absolute asses of themselves. ;)
When the Democrats regain power, John Stewart will not show mercy.
