Drain the oceans!

In light of the pool threads, and expanding on such an argument why not drain the oceans, they are more dangerous than pools with their nasty critters and largish amounts of water.

Where would we put them?

I would start with France but that doesnt really help.... I bet Mercury is awful hot that close to the sun, why not send it there, for heat relief.

We should get everyone in the world to drink it, then fly groups into space to piss it out :)

I was thinking that if we got some gigantic plows and mixers, we might be able to mix all the water with earth and make oceans of mud instead. :)

I knew you water hating liberals would want to do that.

We could also make some very large sponges, and then incase them in glass domes so as to prevent evaporation.

Maybe if we reduced the orbit of the moon we could get it to suck the water into space for us? Then we'd have rings like Saturn and Neptune! Eat that, gas giants!

We can use solar energy to generate electricty and convert the dangerous water back into harmless hydrogen and oxygen. Then use the hydrogen to fuel cars.

umm what if it rains and refills the oceans? or your machine doesnt work?

The machine will work. I've built a small scale prototype in preparation for the day when humanity would come to it's senses and drain the oceans. And if it rains we just turn the machine on again and dispose of the new oceans.

So how much money do you need to get this program off and running? I will gladly volunteer any financial requirements to better the human existance by draining the oceans.

Well, it's going to take alot of funding. Solar panels, wire, electrodes, compressors and cylinders to store the hydrogen, a personal 747 jet for the project director (me), and expense account so I can wine and dine investors from around the world. I guess 10 billion would be enough to get the project started. You can wire it to my Cayman Island bank account.

Ohhh. I've got the best idea!

Take all the ocean water, strain out the fish and whales in a giant collander, and mix it with jello pudding mix.

We could solve world hunger!

Now, I'm not against pools, and I am not for draining the Oceans. I haven't been to the "pool" threads because it my opinion that if people are idiots they should suffer the consequences. So I suggest we drain they people's pools who through their idiocy allowed their young children to drown and place them in the pool and summarily execute them by firing squad...NO?

...How about, place their feet in buckets of concrete and through them into their own pool to drown...NO?

...How about, throwing them into a shark infested area of the ocean? I hear an area off the coast of Florida is primed and ready...

With PUDDING!!!You're not thinking big enough. How about rice pilaf! Spaghetti! Soup! Any of those "just add water" products! And we can sell the fish and whales to other countries who can put them in farms. Everyone knows farm-raised fish are healthier than wild ones, especially due to all the mercury in the water.

Several of you mentioned rain? It won't have to rain. All we have to do is invent climate control. It'll protect us from global warming, too.

The only problem is, how do we deal with the algae? Algae in the ocean water provides up to 70% of oxygen for the world, and if we drain the oceans, we'll run out of oxygen.

Why not leave the whales and fish in the Jello ocean? It would be like Jello with bits of fruit and marshmallow in it, only fish flavored.

Oh wait, I just thought of an answer to my own question. We evaporate some of the water into hydrogen, oxygen, and sodium chloride (the salt). Salt we can put on our food; oxygen goes into the atmosphere; hydrogen into our cars. And everything's nicely accounted for! Ta-DAAA! :D

What does everyone have against the oceans, huh? They are bigger 'n' better than swimming pools, no?

That would be kinda salty. But yeah, dig in, solve hunger problems.

Space. Maybe sent it to Mars in hopes to turn it into a hospitable planet.
