Errr...yeah, sure mate. I'm Scottish, but I'm also British. I'm also European. "The Republic of Ireland" and "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" are separate, independant countries, but the rest of them are only regions. I support a Federal system in the UK, but we're not separate independant countries by any stretch of the imagination. I mean, who formulates the foreign policy of Wales, or the defence policy of England, or the monetary policy of Northern Ireland, etc, etc?? NO ONE, because all these matters are decided by the UK as a whole, because it is a country and none of the others are! Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England are Regions, the UK is a country.

Scotland is closer to being separate than any of the others, because it has a separate legal system and it's parliament has much more power than, for example, Wales. But it's still not, and should not be a separate independent country.


Also, yeah Western Europe rocks!!! (Viva la EU!)

Our mothertongue is luxembourgish, but we speak german as though it were our mothertongue, french is the "official" language (meaning official texts are in french, but it's not the official language) . We learn english at school and we may also learn latin + spanish/italian (as I did)
