So who's seen "Sin City?"

I went to go see it on Friday and I haven't been the same since. I think it's easily the best movie I've seen since Pulp Fiction, which is saying a lot. As a singular piece of art, I think it easily trumps any of the three Lord of the Rings movies: the cinematography is mind blowing, and the acting was wonderous.
I've seen it twice and I'm nowhere near done. Frank Miller is a genius. And a libertarian! :D
Also, $.50 to whoever can tell me where Frank Miller makes his cameo in that film.

just knowing that tarantino was a guest director is enough to make me want to see it :) but anyway is it really like all in black and white?

Yay! I've been wanting to see it, but I haven't talked to anyone who knew anything about it yet. You just made my day. :D

It's all in black and white save for a few isolated spots: some things are in color but most is black and white. In the opening scene for example, there's a woman in a red dress; but that red dress is the only color you see. When he gives her a cigarette and flicks the lighter, he says something about her eyes and they flicker green as the flame draws nearer, and then goes black and white again once he snaps it shut. It's little shit like that that makes the filmmaking of this movie particularly brilliant, IMO.
And yes, Tarantino was a "guest director," he directed one scene: its in the third story with Clive Owen while Dwight is driving Jackie Boy to the Pits. Its a good scene too.
