I saw this ad on TV this morning and thought the NS population needed to be made aware.

http://www.counterfeitmini.org/

At the CCC, we're dedicated to putting an end to the victimization associated with purchasing a counterfeit MINI Cooper. We cooperate with MINI and international law enforcement to pursue criminals. But there's one other crucial partner we need to recruit: YOU. We can't do this without YOU. Educate yourself about the problem. Learn how to detect a fake. Know when you're being hoodwinked. Together, we can put an end to this appalling injustice. Together, we can make our streets genuine once again.

I've seen this commercial several times, and everytime I see it, I just can't convince myself that they're serious. There's no way! ...is there? Cause if so, I lose all faith in humanity.

The commercial makes you wonder, but the web site gives it away. Look at some of the pics on other pages and you'll see what I mean.

Why not? The cars are totally convincing. I took a look and instantly found myself changing my opinon as to whether or not I too could afford a mini! Lo! How I was wrong! Were it not for this commerical I would have been the not so proud owner of a knock off! As it stands, me and my better interest were protected (not that anyone else would have known the difference has I purchased the fake - due to the striking physical symmetry). So now I have a fine looking mini (http://www.erau4x4.com/Beater%20air,%20underside.JPG) and drive it proudly everywhere I go, knowing that I only narrowly avoided that fatal fleecing! :)

THOSE F@#$@#^ Bastids!

They conned me. I went down to the auto-mall last weekend, and bought myself what I thought was a Mini...I mean, it had the white roof, and the stripes on the hood, everything. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was, but hey, thought maybe it was just my lucky day. Boy was I wrong. Those jerks took me for all I had, and it wasnt even a Mini! I tried taking a corner at 15 mph, boy was that a mistake...my 'Mini' almost rolled. That was my first indication that something was wrong. Then I went out to the club, and somehow was able to fit 10 of my friends into the car...there's no way a Mini would've ever let me fit that many drunk people in it at once - self-preservation and all. Now my 'Mini' smells like puke...

Someone needs to do something about these fake Minis!

They're making mini Kait's now? Damn, I'm small enough as it is! I know I should have stopped selling vials of my blood..

*curses his complacency for proper punctuation*

You know what I meant! But even if they ever did make mini Kaits... I'd be unable to buy one, nothing could ever come close to the original. ;)

Now, how about that ride?

*revs engine again*

Vroom! SPuTtEr! Vroom!

Some of those fake counter-feit Mini Coopers look really cool. I'd get one.

I stumbled upon that site a few weeks ago. I take it about as serious as the Dihydrogen Monoxide awareness group that was around the interenet a few years ago with the big difference being that the DHMO site didn't put in a TV ad and Counterfeit Mini Coopers did. Fake sites are just getting a little more serious in the funding, that's all. A fake site is, was, and always will be... for jokes...
