I am 13, english and have got a pain in the arse friend. Say something to him, he'll say, "oh, you got that off your dad didnt you?". I share a car-pool with him, and he thinks ive been his best friend for the last 6-7 years of something stupid. He is a squin ball, and goes off on a pissy-fit if he loses a footie match...and takes the ball. I do quite alot with him, he's in my class at school, we're both in the top set. He's not a mental. What do i do, thats within legal boundries, wont hurt his feelings that much? I'm really pissed off.

sounds like an asshole. my advice: don't do anything, just keep acting in a manner you think is 'right'. in time the asshole will realise he's being a gimp and change.
then again, that doesn't really help you if he's being annoying as hell each day for the next couple of years... i still say he's going to change, but if you really can't stand him anymore, don't hang out with him anymore (and just put up with the carpool)

I've got a shotg- oh, wait, you said legal. DAMN :headbang:

Distance yourself from him slowly but surely. Do less and less with him. If you gotta use lame excuses and/or lies, remember this one golden rule: If you DO tell a lie to get out of something, REMEMBER the lie! Trust me. It'll come in handy.

What's a squin ball?

Anyway, 'taking your ball and going home' is an almost cartoonish 'type.' Buy your own ball. Not snippy, but thats to say-dude wants to hang out as much as you do, but if he can get it on his terms by being an ass he will as long as it works. He's trying to call you on shit so that you never call him on his bullshit.

Yay, you lost. That's why we keep score-to know how bad you lost. He'll either stop playing football (soccer for me), stop whining or get better. Either way play will improve.

You don't really have to hurt his feelings, you just don't have to coddle him. (The difference: Using the quote I said about the score, that would hurt his feelings, probably-though I still think it would be funny. But shrugging and saying "Alright, we'll use Smitty's ball." when he tantrums and leaves after losing is not coddling him. If you really have a friend named Smitty, it's because I'm psychic...wooooooooooo)

That probably doesn't help...

What's a squin ball?

Yeah... um.. I second that. I just can't help you until I know what the hell you're talking about.

Usually one good, direct confrontation is enough to solve a problem like this. "Dude, why are you being such a dick." He'll either go home or stop. Either way, problem solved.

I think I'd kick his ass sooner or later. But that's me.

Darn. Suklaa beat me to it.

Tell him to stop being such a dick. And probably hang out more with other people.
