Anyone with a bit of a creative streak and walking the liberal side of the fence; I need some help designing my TV ad for my candidate on a political sim.

The sim is based on American politics and my candidate is a New York Democrat.

what's his stand on issues.
Defense:
"Whilst national security is becoming an increasingly important issue, there is no good in sacrificing the freedoms on which this nation was build in order to protect it's borders of land and sea... moderation in spending and legislation must be returned to [defence]"

Foreign Affairs:
"Now more than we need our friends to not just stand behind us, but to joyfully stand beside us"

"...I think it's time we put down the sword and and picked up the pen"

"Diplomacy is the future of not just our nation, but of the world's security"

Taxes and the Economy:
"It cannot be fair that a single mother with three children need bare the same tax burden as the Bill Gates' of our nation"

"Too much importance is placed on national economics at the sake of indivdual families..."

Education:
"If we want the best teachers, logic says we should offer the best pay"

Family Values and Abortion:
"I believe in a God that gives us the right to decide how we manage our bodies and who ordains women with the choice to elect not to carry a foetus to full term"

The Second Amendment:
"Though I support the rights of gun owners to protect themselves and their families, I am more concerned with the rights of my children not to be killed because an unregistered firearm fell into the hands of a child"

Illegal Drugs:
"...Put the bong in the back of the closet with your Jimmy Hendrix albums..."

Throw in some patriotic stirring images and some good music.... and you got your commercial.

Oh and a good campain is like poker... don't reveal your hand too quickly.
for instance...
"It cannot be fair that a single mother with three children need bare the same tax burden as the Bill Gates' of our nation" will automatically alienate your big corporations and higher tax bracket voters.
reword it to "what we need is a fair and balanced tax system... too often those who need the breaks are left carrying the burden. that needs to change."

and "If we want the best teachers, logic says we should offer the best pay" to time to end our educators suffering... we need to give them the tools and resources to get America's education back on top... where it belongs.

get it... say what you want in the commercial but don't take sides. make it sound like your on the listener's side without them knowing which side you're talking to.

i can't stand campaign ads which pander to patriotism and would much rather the ad just sticks to the issues. but then i'm not american, and, for a start, we don't even get very many party campaign ads over here in the UK, so what would i know?

This is a little impressionistic, like 'feeding us to the wolves' or some other nonsense that really just talks down to voters, but seeing as how that keeps working for some reason...

So you have a guy at a bar, and one guy at the center. And he's being beligerant to his friends, he knocks over a bowl of peanuts and makes his buddy clean it up-orders a round of beers but is suddenly absent when the bartender asks for money. Telling them they are so lucky to be his friend.
Your friends will put up with a lot.
Out in the parking lot the group is walking out, the jerk in front, the friends hanging a little back looking a little disgusted. He turns to talk to them and knocks over a chopper, gets splashed by a truck, something that squares him off for a fight in the parking lot. Camera to the jerk as he calls for his friends. Pull out, his friends aren't there-the jerk is alone and surrounded.
But push them too far and they won't be there when you need them

That needs cleaning, but you get the idea.

If that's his stance on firearms then he needs to outlaw 5 gallon plastic buckets as well. And pools, and bathtubs. Also cars.

If he's actually a proper liberal, have him walking side by side with people like Franklin or maybe mill, or Adam smith (well no one will know who they are but meh.) or if you cant afford that just have him walking down a gallery with there pictures.

Here’s a good one, have a child crying on the ground and all these big businessmen and people who look like politicians are walking past it ignoring, it then the liberal candidate goes and picks it up.

Or a really poor family and he goes to help em and the next scene the guys got a collage degree or something.

and like the armed forces peacekeeping and meditating, you know the things all the other non psychopathic armies of the world do.

Just exalt the virtue of liberality of not shitting on people with several before and after scenes, and all the businessmen and politicians ignoring them but not your cadidate.

It Is for the u.s no?
