NATIONSTATES PREPARES FOR "GLOBAL TREASURE HUNT 5!"

The fine nations of Treasure Island are happy to announce the start of the fifth Global NS Treasure Hunt for 2005! The Global Treasure Hunt is an NS favorite, and participants from all over the globe are looking forward to competing again in this year's fifth exciting competition.

For those who have not participated in previous Treasure Hunts, it works pretty well and is great fun. Here's how it's done:

A message is left somewhere in a remote region of NS. This message provides information which will lead to a prize for the first nation to find it and post it in the PRIZE region. You must create a HUNTER nation (a puppet of your choice) and use that nation to move from region to region after solving each clue. This is the proof of your participation.

The kicker: You must solve clues left in various regions to find the MESSAGE, and then you must be the first to post the message in the PRIZE region once you solve the clues and copy what you've found.

The prize can be one of several things; a link to a download of your choice (we will pay for it---$50.00 bucks or less, folx (smile)), or a new car.

O.K., no new car. But you get the idea, yes?

Create your puppet with the prefix "HUNTER" (e.g., The Theocracy of HUNTER JIM,) and then move it to the starter region TREASURE ISLAND.

The first clue will be placed in TI TODAY, APRIL 9TH, at 2:00 p.m. EST (for those requiring time conversions, check http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc.)

That will allow everyone an opportunity to begin the Hunt at the same time.

"HUNTER SOIGACAS OF THE NEW MERITOCRACY WINS GLOBAL TREASURE HUNT 5!"

The region of The New Meritocracy proudly claimed its first winning finish with the tremendous victory of Champion Hunter Soigacas in Global Treasure Hunt 5. Champion Soigacas, who was participating in his first Global Treasure Hunt, eeked out a close victory over all competitors with a winning post in the region of Ethoipia. Hunter Graceofseppuku led the region of FullRights to its second consecutive GTH victory by finishing a close second, and Hunter Bill moved the much-vaunted region of Texas back into the lead as the top GTH winner by pulling off a spectacular third-place finish (that's three victories and counting, you cagey Texans!)

GTH 5, sponsored by the fine nations of the region of Treasure Island, proved to be the most enjoyable and challenging Hunt of the year! Nations travelled from Treasure Island through a myriad of regions; including Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Monaco, Overlook Hotel, NationStates, The Youngworld, the Pacific zones, and many other wonderful locations around the NS globe before reaching the prize region of Ethiopia. Players from regions around the NS globe entered the region of Treasure Island once again in quest of the GTH championship and its coveted prize.

Remember that GTH 6 is scheduled to begin Saturday, April 23rd at 2:00 p.m. EST!! We look forward to seeing all you Global Treasure Hunters back in Treasure Island!!
