Don't you love it when hollywood tries to change the world and make pots of gold at the same time.

Take the day after tommorow, make money and save climate indeed.

Would have helped if the movie made any sense or had any acting,

But who i am to criticise.

So roll on hollywood, please mr. liam neelson solve all of the middle easts probelms with one simpe movie.

Oh, great, another cynic. Just because a movie isn't going to click it's fingers and fix everything doesn't mean it can't have a positive effect.

What was the positive effect of the last one, the day after tomorrow,
All the socialites started recycling for a week, and then went back to using there SUV’s

What will be the impact for this, well for a few weeks everyone will pretend to be understanding about ‘different cultures’ and then it will slip right back into the same old xenophobia.

Just like when that wave of Chinese’s langue movies came out, yeah they where shit but because they where ‘popular’ everyone suddenly pretended to have great respect for ancient Chinese culture

Eveyone in the western world seems to think massive social change can come about by one big thing, and then poof its done. just like stop poverty campain going right now. Just buy a wrist band and poof your guilt free. for a one off pound braclet youve just completely changed the world for the better.

Hey, this film has been made by Ridley Scott! Which, in my book, means a real kick-ass movie. Can anyone tell me a movie he's made which has been absolute shite?
I can't think of one off-hand. He's certainly one of the most consistent directors out there. Would have loved to see a Ridley Scott-Directed 'Alexander'. Anything watchable would have been 1000 times better than the dreck Stone inflicted on the public.

So we should get rid of that guilt-absolvent Children In Need, then?

oh for god's sake why are you worrying about what some actor said about a movie. you wouldnt be impressed if tom cruise said it was going to bring about world peace would you?

so they are making a movie about the 3rd crusade that perhaps wont be the modern equivalent of a cowboys and indians movie. take it for what it is and see it or not.

liam neeson and orlando bloom? im seein' it!

You forget it is HOLLYWOOD in CALIFORNIA after all. They think they are the world... and that Any Movie they make is "Historical" and "Factual" and thus the should be believed.

the sad thing is, there are millions of peole who do take their versions of historical events as truth.

Why do you say that?? "The Passion of the Christ" was one of the best movies in many, many years, IMHO.

I loved how they spoke Latin in Passion...

I hope they don't forget that Saladin basically kicked the shit out of the crusaders and sent them home crying for mommy.

But as for Hollywood... screw it... Most of the movies from there are crap anyway.

yeah thats why hollywood movies make so much money

(although that doesnt explain why that piece of shit "titanic" made over $1billion)

If it will be historically accurate I think people will hate the Christians and cheer for the Muslims.

It won't solve the problems of the world, movies never do.

This is going to be good. I want to see if this actually does show the Crusades in a pro-Islam perspective. And they better not screw up the character of my second favorite military figure in history (Saladin).

Excuse me, I have to pre-order my tickets.

This will turn out to be another Troy.
A twenty minute flick with two hours of 'dramatic' shots of people looking at each other added to it?

Why do you say that?? "The Passion of the Christ" was one of the best movies in many, many years, IMHO. Different strokes for different folks :D

Also, like me, perhaps he just didn't see the appeal of watching two hours of some carpenter dude getting flogged and losing more blood than an elephant would, then being crucified with nails going through his hands and feet, followed by a spear going into his side, spattering blood everywhere, "Kill Bill" style.

If I want to watch movies with gore, I'll go with my George A. Romero zombie trilogy thanks, at least those are fun! ;)

Hey, California *is* the world. ;) California is the American Dream, manifest destiny! Still, I hate when people think Hollywood is California...

looks like it might be interesting.

I'll check it out. I wonder if you are so against it because it shows Muslims in a positive light at all?

Well, it's Ridley Scott so it will probably be good.

(OK I know we said the same about Oliver Stone and Alexander.)
