Not the daily mini-death, but the big death that's been building up - the Chandler-esque Big Sleep.

Considering how sick Jolt's been the past two days I think the daily mini-death might be enough to knock it out permanently today.

I work in IT. No WAY I'm going to wager on someone else's server going down. Talk about just asking for karmic backlash...

Probably why my server went down today :(
it was dead for a good few hours last night
Good few? It died at around 6:40 PM Central, and was still down when I decided to go to bed at 5:35 AM.
tried to hop on at 2:00pm Friday, Hawaii time...
got on Saturday at 5:50 am...

I'm still worried about my Lineage 2 server.
Fark.com is also having hardware problems.
I tell ya. This bad-server business is squarely the fault of bloggers.

also, they (well, an article in this month's PCFormat) says that 75% of all internet traffic is taken up with spam email. that's set to rise to 95% of all traffic this year
some people are predicting that the whole email infrastructure will collapse when that happens :(
damn Florida

Does anyone actually reply to spam emails?

Yes. I have my system set up to automatically forward spam emails to addresses of other spam emails.

The problem with jolt dying due to a server crash taking the database offline is that all the admins live in GMT, meaning they'll be asleep while all you yanks are moaning about your RPs being interupped at 4am their time. Methinks they should give some backup keys to someone in other timezones in case of this happening again.

Here it is at the supposedly regular down time, and it's up.
It's not NS at fault, it's that damn spam forum they have.

its the americans' fault. its fine for me during the day usually, but it gets steadily worse as the evening goes on, till, after midnight, it just blows (when most of the americans are on i guess)

I'm voting September, because it's my Birthday, and I'm usually a bad omen for technology.
