Well who here is in a Country where you occasionaly lose an hour of sleep or gain an hour?
Its really annoying!
Britain for instances does and so does New Zealand when ours stops theirs starts and V/V.

Also Queensland Australia dosent want it because the extra hour of Sunlight will bake the paint off their houses quicker!

Daylight savings time is a dark and evil phenomenon. If you're so hellbent on having the time, just bump yourself into the next half-time-zone and be DONE WITH IT.

I'm barely able to wrap my head around all of that (even though I know full well how it works). I have a hard enough time trying to reconcile that you all (except the dude from Hawaii) are crazy time travelers of the World of a Couple of Hours From Now...inverting the seasons just draws just too starkly how small I am on this planet.

Also a lot of Farmers dont like Daylight saving because the Cows they have to milk have a set routine and its not good to put them off it-it puts too much stress on them.

A town in rural NZ banned DLS because of this and so for 12 or so minutes there is a time difference wow!

On the Monday i got to work late why?-the trains were broken!
So the frst thing he said was Easter is next Monday i laughed!
I wasnt late because i slept in
nor because of the holiday

THE TRAINS WERE LATE!!!

Very funny. No, the reason it was abandoned was for the agricultural sector and the sake of those in rural western areas of the state.

We have it in parts of the country, but not in others. Confusion rules, particularly when you have to co-ordinate things between different offices in different regions. And we change the clocks on a different weekend to the rest of the world just to make the time differences variable over the year.

A result of being a big country that is mostly aligned North South rather than East West.

Daylight savings are a perfect way to sleep in - when the clocks go back, you have an extra hour to sleep before school/work :p

I wish the UK would ditch BST and keep to simple UTC/GMT. I mean, daylight savings waste time, can cost you sleep before a big day AND make UK summers look important. In the UK, summer is winter, autumn is spring, and so on...

Plus BST stands for BullS**t Time :D

So I'm not going to do real math for this little theory-but I have a proposal-one that can make it seem like all we ever do is gain an hour in the fall. It's damn genius, I'm telling you!

So in fall we gain an hour. After that night, each day we lose a little...like 20 seconds or so. Not so much we'd notice so that by spring, when it's time for daylight savings we're an hour ahead. For DST it stays constant until it's time to add the hour back-BAM! extra hour of sleep seemingly from nowhere.

It's genius, I tells ya, GENIUS!!!

There's here in Canada, except Saskatchewan. Or was it Manitoba? One of those two.

Also Mexico has it, which is a bit pointless since it's not really that far north. The northern states used to do it on their own until a few years ago that the rest of the country started doing it too. It's also a problem because the Central Mexican Time extends too far west so it's never really synchronized with the sun.

Stupid tapatios, they should change their time zone instead of bitching about it.

Anyway, why should rural people have a problem with it? If they have to wake up at dawn, they should just wake up at dawn and the clock be damned.
