How do you feel at the end of the work or school day?
A talented, conscientious and energetic coworker of mine recently confided that he often feels really bad leaving work, undervalued and disrespected mostly. This inspired some thought about how the job affects my feelings. Being too much of a slug to keep a journal, I have to estimate but I think it comes out about like this:
93% of the time I feel like I put in a fair day's work, contributed something and paid the bills (GOOD);
3% of the time I feel greatly pleased with myself, terribly clever, saintly or something (GREAT);
2% of the time I feel like a drone if not an actual liability (BAD);
2% of the time I feel used abused and totally put-upon (BAD).
I think I might be rather lucky in the good to bad ratio, and I'd really like to hear how you all feel.
