I am going to search for the show though cause I need a new show to watch. I dont know what its about. Hopefully something dark.
Calamity Jane.
"Let me put this cold rag over your fuckin' lip."
That show is soooooo slow!!! Stupid soap operas. I tried to watch it, but after watching four hours of that idiot holding his man parts and screaming I couldn't take it anymore. And don't you think with all the hookers running around there should be more sex and nudity? Gratuitous sex is always good.

Deadwood rocks!!!!! :D
But between it and Carnivale (which isn't in the same league), I'm still having nightmares over what "tar and feathering" really means. :( *shudder*

It's about life and death in an illegal settlement on Indian land where gold has been discovered. It involves complex characters with shady motivations working sometimes together and sometimes against one another in a quest to balance some semblance of social order with minimal government interference.

You too? I always had this naive idea that it just made you all sticky and pulled your hair out when you tried to remove it. After seeing what happened to Jonesy in Carnivale, I realized that was no doubt closer to the truth. How awful!! As for Deadwood, I watched it once for about 5 minutes. When I heard the word "f**k" for the 200th time in that 5 minutes, I changed the channel. Think how much more dialogue and plot they could work in if they limited the use of that word to...maybe once a minute.

I don't much care for the show overall, but that scene was riveting and horrifying. I hadn't thought it through either and had the same sort of naive notions. I thought I was going to vomit.

Um, if the swearing bothered you, you probably wouldn't care for the show much anyway.
The swearing seems pretty accurate for the way people in those circumstances talk. People talk like that now.

Yeah, the depth of some of the characters(no one is completely good or bad) makes it great. Too bad it isnt mass market enough and wil probably be cancelled. Im in India now anyway and cant see it even if it was still on. Same goes for the cop show on FX, cant remember the name(the one with the guy from the commish)
Gotta love and hate character like swearinjun. Has no problem setting up and killing someone(if they cant take of themselves it their own fault) but is willing to take care of a cripple even though she cant do her job properly and he has to get on his knees to scrub the floor. A person who is willing to do what it takes to survive/prosper in the environment he is in.
Cy on the other hand is just a scumbag. The hottie chick that works with him is just an idiot though(along with his conman dealer) You either figre out the rules of the environment you are in or get the hell out the game. Want to have lots of morals, then stay away from a basically lawless town.
Loved the "dead man's hand episode" Probably not the real episode name but its the one where aces and eights gets its name from. A nobody/nothing shooter kills the most famous gunman in the west. WOW, gotta love the conflict.
A reluctant hero who marries his brothers widow and raises their son but who is in love/sleeping with another widow.
A scumbag saloon/whorehouse owner who takes advantage of whom he can but also looks after many people. Who makes deals with the chinese(others look down on them, but he basically views a man by what he is worth not his race or rank).
Great show!!!
Voted al swearinjun btw.
