My facial hair is a pile of serendipidy(sp). I had a handlebar that became a dali that became too much trouble and is now somewhere between a walrus and and a fu manchu. I was trying to do that little beard from the civil war era, like Broderick in Glory (http://victoryatseaonline.com/war/otherwars/images/glory-2.jpg), but I ended up with a Uncle Sam instead.
I'm too attatched to it to do a soul patch (I too got so-ul, and am super bad...) which sucks because I could have a big ass rooster/cockatau/Dizzy Gillespie soul patch-it sticks straight out when I role in my bottom lip. I just dig the Egyptian silhoutte(sp) I get when I cast a shadow...

I don't know which one he is, the full beard or the Maynard-if its the guy with the Maynard then you really aught to show love to the Maynard in the poll!!
I just occoured to me that the conventional beard was left out. Perhaps because it is not so pimp.
Speaking of conventional-ZZ-Top is running away with it with second place being conventional vs. eccentric (Dali and the Van Dyke). I'm not sure what to make of that.

by the way, the uncle sam is the only allowable thing. a stache freaks me out during kissing. and a long term boyfriend had the mutton chops, but i made him shave the moustache part and keep the sides. i laughed too much during oral sex.

I actually had a girlfriend make me shave the Uncle Sam a while back, I couldn't convince her that it would have 'advantages' she hadn't thought of yet (I settled on a boring ol' Van Dyke, but at the time no one had goatees so it was cool)...I eventually found that I liked the beard more than her so when she left I grew it back with a vow to never again surrender my goat. Of course that has meant that it's just me and my beard...but you have to make sacrafices...
After getting the nickname 'Walrus' I started trimming the upper lip to the corners (giving me a bushy fu manchu)-it hasn't really helped.

I would say that Saddam ran from a quality cop mustache (http://www.probertencyclopaedia.com/j/Saddam%20Hussein.jpg) to the now popular borderline between a ZZ Top/Grizzly Adams (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/60/Saddambeard.jpg), which according to the poll makes him pretty pimp...
(I think it could be argued that the Saddam mustache is unique enough to be his own-and worn by all his officials-distinct from being a cop mustache, in which case it would belong in it's own pimp catagory)

As long as the Cop mustache didn't get picked before the Maynard-I know there has got to be more love out there for the Maynard...I see too many of them day to day...(I'm not sure why I'm routing so much for the Maynard and not my own beard...)

Sadly you're already wrong. But there are other factors that contribute to that.
On the poll-Orthodoxy is winning out in the second place, the Van Dyke edges ahead of the Dali. And still little love for the Maynard. It's because Nick at Nite stopped running Dobey Gilles...Bob Denver's(Gilligan) beat goat-come on, thats got mean something...

Its not really as self-loathing as it sounds. I've had a lot of things to take care of over the past few years that would have gotten in the way even if I had met someone. When I'm 'all caught up' then I'm sure I can take care of that if I feel the need.
EDIT: I should comment on the status of the poll to stay on topic...and I do dig the success that the Mutton Chop is gettin'. Sweet. I think it's high time the mutton chop made a come back.
