Some Star Wars fans flunk IQ test

The Cat-Tribe

These 11 idiots have started camping out in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater for the sixth installment of the popular George Lucas movie series seven weeks before its release.

But, the movie will not be released in that theatre !

And the idiots have been told about this -- but won't move. :headbang: :D

The Force is not with them. :D

I think the test was flunked when they started camping out, nevermind whether or not the movie was actually going to play there.

The same goes for rabid sports fans.

When I got into Phantom Menace (which is before we all realised Lucas had lost touch a bit) on the first day by showing up a half hour before the show and got in and got a good seat the ship sailed on the whole 'camping out' thing. Which, actually, is kinda too bad. I was 6 when Star Wars came out and didn't really get to take part in that whole thing-and those movies where an important part of my life-at least as far as films go (and with what I do now, that is pretty big) and it would have been nice to take part in all that. Ah well. I think the new trailer is pretty cool. (yay, Alec Guiness)

"This is still the epicenter for 'Star Wars' fans. For the big iconic pictures of the 1970s, people lining up were here. They weren't at the Cinerama Dome (at the ArcLight)," Sprague said.

They aren't the only idiots involved here - 'epicentre' means 'above the centre'.

In the unlikely event the focus was at or near the earths suface, the epicentre would be co-incident with the centre.

Given that Grauman's is actually on the earths surface, the the metaphor is not inapt. Though I doubt there was that much thought put into it.

Edit: Yay for engineering geology. I've never used anything I learned from that class before, ever. :)

Well, look at it this way. They probably waited in line for weeks before the abysmal Episode II was released. Why the hell would they wait for another terrible film?

It also means 'the focal point'.

They faked the haunting in order to get out of buying a house they couldn't afford. There, now you need no longer be obsessed.

This is why capitalism rox and socialism sux

socialism = someone will make sure they are fed

capitalism = someone will sell them food at 4 am at crazy prices until they starve to death and are removed from the gene pool.

socialism = they have the chance(slim though it might be) to reproduce
capitalism = the society gets to take their stuff(for the betterment of all, well junk food vendors anyway) and they dont get to polute the gene pool

Perhaps it's not really about the movie, but rather the experience of camping out with friends...

I don't see how people can dedicate their life to a movie. All these start wars geeks really are pathetic, i mean fine if you like it, i don't mind the star wars movies myself but come one, it's just a movie. People who devote themselves to 'becoming one with the force' need top be put down.

The new trilogy seems to be made for children, although I have to admit I loved Yoda's sabre fight at the end of episode two! :)

It was amazing and funny at the same time. My favorite part of Episode II was the arena scene they ripped straight from Gladiator. Well, favorite for laughter, anyway :D.

Yeah... my parents are too cheap to just freaking rent it from the video store. I have to wait until it's my turn on the 20 person waiting list at the library. rawr.

Those, along with Dr. Strangelove, The Shining, A Clockwork Orange, and Eyes Wide Shut. None of which I've seen except for Dr. Strangelove, which I saw when I was five and didn't get any of the jokes. :headbang:

I'd say just wait for it to turn up on Cable, but then I remember that your parents are probably too cheap to get anything but Antenna TV...

Well, I've heard from practically everyone I know that they're just as great as the first, but I've heard that about the Matrix before, too, and practically everyone I know=teenagers that like half-wit movies like Kung-Pow; Enter the Fist or whatever it was... so I'll believe you. :D

Did you know that there are more people in the city of Vancouver, Canada, who consider their religion 'Jedi' than there are Jews? Just a fun fact

Kung Pow was... Something.

And don't listen to those retards. The new Trilogy is awful. Episode I was a special effects showcase with very little involved in plot and story. Episode II was even more of a special effects showcase, but it had a deep plot and story. However, the direction was HORRIBLE (had the split-second action scenes like Top Gun), the acting was even worse (from the two main characters), and the battle between Yoda and Dooku was... Different.

If you're gonna watch Star Wars, do yourself a favor and see the original Trilogy. Don't torture yourself!

It also means 'the focal point'.

If you intend to mean 'focal point' then 'centre' is surely the prefered option: why go to the bother of adding an extra syllable and misusing a technical term?
