Last night the late, late, late show on the cable English movie channel was Rocky Horror! :) I haven't seen it in years!

Any fans around here?

So come up to the lab
And see what's on the slab
I see you shiver with antici...pation
But maybe the rain
Isn't really to blame
So I'll remove the cause
But not the symptom
Mwahahahahahaha!!!

Though I enjoy parts of the move, ie: Meatloaf and Tim Curry in drag...all of it..., I loathe the spectacle of the live show. Sure I understand the fun and pride of making an ass of yourself but at least make a fool of yourself in front of people who aren't already bigger losers than yourself. Its a little bit like Star Wars nerds, or for that matter Star Trek nerds, but at least they quote verbatim rather than making up stupid lines in response to half said lines in movie. I would say they don't act it out either, but we both know that'd be a lie and that is much more sad than anything about RHPS fan could come up with.

But replying with stupid lines is half the fun. Yelling "Janet, you're a slut" and throwing toast are essential to the experience.

Lol I'm one of those nerds up there singing Time Warp. Not telling which part. Our local playhouse is doing and I love the movie. Bought it on DVD the other day just to have something to laugh at.

The guy I went to senior prom with told me a story about how he and another guy (whose name he didn't reveal) had been driving to the movie dressed as Frankenfurter and hit a cow. We come from a very small Texas town, so the sheriffs deputies were more than a little shocked.
The next year I was dating some other guy, and he started telling me about how he and another guy had hit a cow on the way to Rocky Horror.
Yep, I had inadvertently dated the only two guys in Leander Texas who hit a cow dressed as transvestites.

apparently you know what you like???? (chuckle)

I will never forget the first time I saw it in College Station Texas, with several Aggie Seniors in their Army uniforms and Corps boots (calf length cavalry boots to those who don't konw) doing the Time Warp on stage...

it was mindbogglingly funny

Needless to say, Rocky Horror is one of my favorite movies of all time. I went to a performance at my school and it had audience participation. That was the best viewing of that movie I have ever experienced. However, for those of you in the mood for a twisted musical, you must check out "Cannibal: The Musical". It's a musical comedy written by and starring Matt Stone, and Trey Parker. That's right, the guys from South Park. They made it while they were in college. Definitely worth at least checking out. Of all the people I have shown it to, only one didn't like it. Check it out. PEACE!

In the summer of 2003 I saw the final performance of a very very good staging of it in London :)

Was the only time ive seen it (and the only time I intend to) but it makes me the positive envy of all the goths i know.

While I didn't see it in the theatres... I ruined my tape of it... so I picked up the DVD... and the online scripts of all the audiences remarks... and I try to think up my own.

I can't remember the first time I saw RHPS because I was a wee one. My mom thought it was funny to let me watch weird shit like that when I was young. I've seen it quite a few times since because it's terrific. And a theatre in the OKC puts it on every year during the summer.

Snap your rubber gloves. :)

Yes, I voted participation. Seen the movie almost too many times and been in the audience about 20 times, plus working behind the scenes.

I love it. I always wanted to go to an audience participation thing, but every time the opportunity came up, I was doing a concert

I have the sheet music, though. Sometimes I play the piano and sing along....

Sir Lawrence Olivier in Hamlet
Jackie Cooper in The Champ

Meatloaf is never in drag in the film. :p

Anyway, I've seen it hundreds (if not thousands) of times. Used to go every Friday and Saturday and now host a bi-annual RHPS party. What a hoot. :)

Nerd? Sure, why not?

LOVE IT. I'm yet to actually see it in a theatre *cough*, but I yell the lines when I watch it on video, and once I was eating toast and accidentally threw it at the screen. Reflex.

"Who's got the clap? Who's got the clap?"
"I got it! I got it!!"
"Now everyone's gonna get it!"

Hee... fun.
