Okay, I'd appreciate help with this. I need to do a proposal for my english class. My group is proposing a reality TV show where Reality TV producers will fight each other to the death.

Ooh, you could do the show in a giant office block! Instead of zones you could have floors, and one of the weapons would have to be a tie-garotte wire :p
Thats kind of illegal and doesnt seem to much like reality. All well reality sucks anyway

Its fantasy, legality doesn't matter :p
Shoot, last semester one group suggested burning old people for fuel.
Compared to that, this is Care Bears.

Yeah I guessed that. But the Japanesse book is more of an allgory then anything. The link I provided is closer to what you are proposing (ie, Battle Royale in a reality TV format).
Though both the BR book and film are very good. Absolutely love them. Have you seen the sequel?
PS. I suggest watching Series 7: The Contenders if you get the chance, it is very good.

Fraid not, my experience with Battle Royale has been reading them (in graphic novel format, the actually novel takes to long to read in store) in Barnes and Noble

Shame, your missing a treat.
Though I haven't found the graphic novel anywhere :(
If reality TV producers start fighing to death I want to be
in the front row :p This would mean only one survives, right?

Really? Then again, I guess most places have pretty crappy Graphic Novel Selection, only one store in my immediate area has a collection worth shit, and I'm still mad at them for not re-hiring me after my temp job ran out ;-;. Also, the manager almost refused to do any Graphic Novel shelfing, I had to sneak books out of the back room to get them on the shelves.

Okay, considering that nationstates has people from all points on the political spectrum, do you think it would be fair to call this a scientific poll?

Hey damn! It would be so fun!! I hope I'll be able to see the show!!
Should just be for criminals, and it should be elected.
Go to a prison and enter them into a battle royale style competition.
If you go in, you've a chance to be set free. However, there's also a chance you'll be brutally murdered by one of the contestants.
This should be purely state funded and have no commercials.
Anyone ever read Stephen King's (Bachman's) Book Running Man. Or The Long Walk? Very good reading, I don't think it'd be very good in real life.

I was just about to mention that book. This premise sounds more like 'Running Man' than it does 'Battle Royale'.
It does if you use solely criminals.
The running man as I understand it wasn't elective, ie prisoners had no choice whether or not they participated.
Additionally, it was highly commercialised, which is why I think it should be state controlled.
If you ARE gonna allow commercials, then the money should at least go back to the people as opposed to lining the pockets of corporations.
No, no. It shouldn't be TV producers or criminals. It should be middle school students. Experience has shown us that that is what works best.

I personally rather like the idea of killing off the morons on all those crappy reality shows. Kinda gives the title "Survivor" a whole new meaning. *Evil laugh*

LOL. And the running man was elective, atleast in the book. King always kicked such ass in his old school Bchman days. Running Man was all about the dash for cash. Trying to get your freedom. I think King's where I get my twisted desire to see not-happy endings. :D
