Well I have been slightly obsessing over the Movie Battle Royale ever since I saw it and was just curious how you would react to the situation and for those who don't know what I am talking about Battle Royales Premise is a class of ninth graders is stuck on an Island and given wepons and the only way to get off the Island alive is to kill everyone else in three days or everyone dies so how would you react?

I would kill Jeff Probst first.

Kill everyone, they're going to die in three days anyway and I might as well save my own life.

Read the first post to find out.

I wondered why they didn't kill the teacher first off. Except it's a dark satire about how Japanese culture forces you to accept your superiors decisions without question.

I would hide until the last day, waiting for everyone else to kill each other, then appear and kill the last one there.

Pray I got picked first, got a rifle and some good amount of ammo. Hide outside the exit and shoot each one as they left.

More likely I'd try to figure out a way to take out the adults. Sorta like what the protagonists actually tried to do.

And if you're obsessing over it, go read the book it was based on.

I guess another way would be when picked, go up choose a machine gun, turn round and just start shooting everyone there. When you run out of ammo pick up the next gun and continue.

BTW what was the title of the book?

I actually read the book, never saw the movie, so some of the names might be different.

I would calmly kill as many people as I could, if not with a slight satisfaction that I was killing them. I would not end up like Yoshio(the guy who stood outside of the school with the crossbow) I would more than likely end up dead sometime, but would have enjoyed it immensly while I was alive. So alot like Kazuo Kirayama. student #6

The problrm with speculating about "calmly killing" is that killing anothe rperson is sceond to dying yourself in terms of being psychologically tortorous. I don't know how I'd react, as I've never had to kill and woul probably find it unpleasant, as would most people if the situation actually arose.

ever read or seen the movie versions of "Lord of the Flies" - sounds kinda of like a similar deal, only a direct set up to encourage Jack and destroy Ralphie and Piggy.

I am quite aware. I have many problems, and I don't care about my own life, so why should I care about other peoples lifes.

In answer to the topic, I think I would be able to kill off quite a few of my class mates (if you randomly picked a bunch of kids from my school). I know it's scary. Another good idea if you wanted to survive for a long period, fake your own death. I'm not sure how but it could be a good idea.

I think if I was in ninth grade and that happened to me, I'd probably be to upset to function effectively.

These days, I try like hell to take the teacher out first. (Preferably with a belly/groin shot combo).

No, no, no. Band together, kill them all, then backstab or have a few duels if you're a honorable person :D

Indeed, shell-shock (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome I guess they're calling it now) results not from seeing people around you killed so much as being to the one to actually be doing the killing.

Seeing as I would not want to live with the nightmares of having killed off my class I'd strike off on my own, avoid everyone and hope for the best.
