The Church of Atheism

I have just recently opened, "The Divine Church of Atheism." You should go there!

We have no one giving sermons about nothingness. We ocassionally watch movies, such as Monty Python's, "Life of Brian." But we mainly read the Holy Scientific-American and sing hymns, by Nine Inch Nails. Every December, we celebrate, "Abyssmas" (or 'Byssmas for short), where we sing 'Byssmas carols (although only in places where we cannot be seen or heard) and do plays celebrating the birth of our holy father, Friedrich the Nietzsche, who gave his life for nothing, and now rests, eternally, in the love and care of a ceaseless void.

Every time I'm there, I feel such strong nothing, as nothing goes through me. It's just like nothing was really was nowhere!

Kafka was dull.

As the epistle of Greed. I'm sure she'd be flattered.

Besides, Kafka wasn't nearly anti-Christian enough or witty. I read "Metamorphosis." It was boring and depressing.

1. Man turns into bug.
2. Man's family kills bug.
3. Family rejoices!

What a retarded story.

Kafka was pretty much what goths were before goths existed. You can't have a goth as your Messiah. But Nietzsche was badass.

Stephen Hawking. He's a genius and plus, he can't move or talk. That's all you really need for an Atheist Pope.

I mean, I know technically he's not an atheist, but he's not really religious either. Besides, I can't think of anyone better, can you?

Actually, nevermind. Forget it. Our Pope is this guy. I mean, he's already got the hat.

Organized irreligion sounds just as much a pointless waste of time as organized religion.

Why bother? Isn't the biggest joy of agnostisicm/atheism not having to waste time and energy doing shit to please the big sky pixie?

I'm down with it (or should I say down in it?) But I'm going to have to nominate Camus and Sartre as saints.

Furthermore, we need a spring celebration, everyone else has one so why not us. I propose Fester in honour of the Addams Family character.

Not directly  religous athiest would be an oxymoron

But Athiesm is a belief/understanding system and Church is a place
Not oposites

The talk of Ayn Rand is non-sensical IMHO - if you are an aetheist, there is no God and conversely, there is no Satan either. Everything is relative, there are no absolutes and you can do whatever the heck you want without fear of anything except social repercussions.

I can't say I'd be a regular attendee but it could be fun once in a while. Don't make it ridiculously early. Especially if it's held on Sunday. I'm working on hangovers around the time most churches hold services.

Sometimes you have to step on a sort of lever to open the lid.
