So many of us here love to debate religion. I'm guilty of it too. Anyway, the most recent spate of religious battles in NS seems to be running a bit longer than usual. Or is that just my imagination?

Ahh...it was only two weeks ago that people were noticing that all the threads seemed to be pro and anti-American...now it's religion...we just get stuck in ruts every week it seems:)

And before that people were worried about the popularity contests. Those who are here for more than a few hours at a time tend to notice these so-called "ruts" rather pre-emptively.

Myself included, when I'm on NS for lengthy periods for whatever reason, I want new topics and interesting things to discuss SO BAD that I frequently wonder why we haven't shifted focus yet. Never mind only a few hours have past ;).

IT's very much like fashion in that the trends always come back after a while.

Alas, it doesn't take 20 years before they come back.

Pardon me how could i forget.

but thouse threads generally turn in to a left vs right, theism vs atheism fight

Between the Terri Schiavo circus and the death of Pope John Paul II, there has been a lot of renewed vigor in religious arguments in the US across the board, so it's no surprise that it would translate over onto this forum as well.
