Recently some rather hairy, short individuals were discovered in the Indonesian jungle. Officially they haven't been classified...thoughts on these 'hobbits' anyone?

i thought they were classified as Homo florensis ?
and also, they can't be the missing link since the missing link is the last common anscestor between humans and other primates.

Have to agree with Yupaenu, they aren't "the missing link".

i remember reading an article on this, cant remember where, but yeah, short humanoid fossils.

didnt read the whole thing, just a summary, but thought it was interesting.

also read some creationist piece claiming how this find once and for all disproves evolution. i didnt follow the logic, but i rarely do for many of the creationist arguments:)

anyways, its a real thing, a google should pull up some info on it

I believe, though I can't find a link on a quick search of Google, that the findings as reported in October are now being contested. Something to do with access to the specimens not being allowed to other scientists.
