I've just spent ages using the adblock additon to mozilla firefox blocking yet another lot of animated ads that permeate every page of the jolt forum, and finally seem to have beaten them (and it took some doing :D).

I don't mind still ads, and do understand that sites (not just this one) need ads to pay the bills, but animated ads drive me nuts. There is nothing worse than trying to read serious posts in a thread, and having this thing jumping around in the corner of your eye. Its very distracting and annoying.

I've noticed too over the last couple of years that the numbers of ads on the internet seems to have exploded. I've never bought anything after seeing an internet ad, and rarely even click on them. I wonder if anybody really takes these ads seriously, and buys or uses what they are advertising.

I'm just wondering what others think about animated/internet ads, not just on this site, but on any part of the net.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. By the by, Mozilla Firefox is the greatest thing on the web. Anyways, it seems that all the moronic AOL users(No offense to anyone but it's been shown that AOL users are dumber that the rest). So that's why they have ads.
