my fav instrument is the cello, composer is antonin dvorak, and symphony is the CSO. Incedently, anyone who has heard rastapovich play the dvorak's 106th with the CSO probably agrees with me on all of my choices.

I like Kent Nagano as a conductor, whether it's Berkeley or Paris he's conducting.
I've forgotten the name of the name of the chamber group-it's something like New Music Works somethin' or other...their cool.
Since I played it Canticle of the Creatures in high school and college I've got a soft spot for it.
As for composers, mostly 20th century stuff like Reich and Bryars and Gorecki(sp?)...some times Part, Cage, Bernstien. Britten is cool.
For the 'old cats' I like Beethoven, Bach, R. Strauss, Mahler, Wagner, Orff (thier doing something else from Orff here soon!!), I like Pines of Rome by Rhespighi(sp) but I don't know that that really qualifies as liking that composer. (EDIT:Sometimes I'll put 20th century in 'old cats' for no reason...So Ives. Ha.)
FYI....
I'm trying to download a bunch of band music. so keep the favorites coming. =p

Tchaikovsky's 6th reigns supreme.
Also, Sibelius' Finlandia (although I think that's mostly sentimental), and Fanfare for the Common Man is worth a blow if you have a decent brass section.
