I absolutely love it, its been a favourite for years. Jeff Buckley also did a cover of it on his album "Grace", its a good version too if your not a Leonard Cohen person :)

I prefer the Rufus Wainwright version. Overall, though, I'm a sucker for bitter love songs. This is one of my favourite.

Leonard Cohen and Rufus mentionned on the same thread? I'm impressed. Cohen is one of the best songwriters Canada has to offer. I'll always remember when he won a Juno for best male vocalist a few years back and said something to the effect that only in this country could he ever win in that category. And Rufus *sighs* enough said.

btw you have very good taste.

I think it is one of his better songs, but when the woman I live with plays the song, she has it repeat over and over for hours. That will make you hate any song.

Aw...so love that song...I like the Rufus Wainwright version that was in Shrek, but to be honest, anyone could sing it. You can't keep a song that good down.
