Make me feel rich and special! Giving out Gmail invites to random people!

Folks and non-folks alike! Hear me, hear me! My sources down in the mortal world below known as Earth tell me that Gmail is going public April 1st, as the rumours say.

I have 50 invites. (Or had, until I gave Generic Empire one.) I will feel severely poor if these invites lose their significance. In the past, I have reserved invites solely for close friends. In the past, people have done craaaazy stuff to get invites.

But now is no longer the past. Now is the time to give out invites and spend, because the crash is about to hit. Now is the time to look incredibly stupid if they don't actually go public tomorrow.

But most importantly, now is the time to get your Gmail invite before it opens to the public.

While we are at this, who in the hell registered Lacadaemon@gmail.com, because it wasn't me?

I deliberately made up lacadaemon, so I don't see why anyone would take it randomly. Now come on, own up, whoever you are.

I don't even know how my invites work, or how many I have.

And you don't have any reservations about rumors saying something is going to happen on April Fool's Day???

Not at all. Gmail came out on April Fool's, after all.

Lacedaemon was a name for ancient Sparta, so maybe there's your problem.

Currently, we have 646,051 invites available to share.

Look at that inflation. I say verily, it's appalling.

arancaytar@gmail.com has also gone to an anonymous malefactor. That, or they think it's too short or something. But I registered aransvault with no difficulties.

Or possibly, I registered it some time ago and then forgot the next day. It happens on occasion.

I'll send out invites to the first ten people who respond. I have 48 right now, and I expect it to refill to 50 any moment.

And it's HILARIOUS! I've seen someone try to sell one for 10$ only two days ago! :D Bit late, eh?

Lacadaemon or Lacedaemon = A city-state of ancient Greece in the southeast Peloponnesus

Henry Lacadaemon registered the account lacadaemon@gmail.com.

Uh-huh, I am well aware of that, that's why I spell it with an A, not an E. And the one with the A was 'stolen', not the one with the E. (Which was still up for grabs when I last checked.)

It was you wasn't it.

No, mine is maddillphatyo@gmail.com. Feel free to e-mail me. I've gotten exactly one e-mail in the 2+ months I've had it.

Google set to double capacity of Gmail service
By Chris Nuttall in San Francisco

Google, the internet search company, will announce today a doubling of capacity for users of its Gmail service, as competition hots up over the provision of free e-mail services.

:D So there to that! (http://news.ft.com/cms/s/a3330b68-a24c-11d9-8483-00000e2511c8.html)

I don't know. And every time you send one out it goes back up to fifty straight away,

You just can't beat that kind of competition. Google is becoming Microsoft! The sky if falling!

Oh, conservativemonolith@gmail.com is now taken, much to the dismay of the vast majority of the people posting on this forum.

Google's new beta mail service that launched April 1, 2004. Storage will steadily increase 'til it hits infinity + 1 GB (read: 2GB).

Want an invite? Your name is latin. That itself merits an invite. However, multus should be in the accusative plural, should it not?
