I tried for a while to make a shorter title but somehow ended up with this harshly worded one. It may be too much in tone but it gets the point across.

And BTW I apologize for yet another Schiavo thread.

Basically, the Schindlers profited from the death of their daughter after saying that her husband was letting Terri die for financial gain. Ironic, eh?

Possible they are trying to recoup the money they spent trying to save her, but still, anyone who sent money to help has just been sold out to solicitors.

That is pretty assanine of them. Good christians for keeping thier brain-dead daughter alive for 15 years to let her die a long and drawn out death. Good christians for selling out your supporters. It really is people like this that give the christian religion a bad name.

Yea, and damn the husband for donating the rest of the lawsuit money to charity, and turning down $11 millions to divorce Terri and let her husband take control. What a greedy bastard he is. Face it, the husband was doing what was in the best intrest of Terri. Its the parent that sold out their supporters. Thats called throwing them under the bus.

did they solicit the donations?

Hard to tell from the article. I would assume they were donations done mostly through churches or church groups. I'm not sure if they did any door-to-door work but I wouldn't be surprised since volunteers would be easy to come by.

I would also assume there was some sort of phone number set up by the parents so they could collect donations. That's the only way I see them having a list of names.

The scary thing is: If there were over-the-phone donations then doesn't that mean there is a possibility credit card info may have been sold as well?

If i remember the story correctly, Michael used up most (if not all) of the 11 million dollars gained by Terri's lawsuit case to keep her alive. Not only that, but when Michael said he wanted to take her off the feeding tube, the parents (through all the ruckus) bribed him (as in, offered him money) to reverse his position. Yes, he's very greedy :-/.

Ok Estally, to be honest I thought she was set free when she died. However, I think the way it was done was very cruel. Hell, our animals die a better death than what that woman did. I think a chemical coctail would have been far better. Anyhow, what I was more remarking on was the fact that instead of saying " Thanks for your help in trying to save our daughter" which I have not once herd from them, It was more of " Our daughter is dead, lets make money off the supporters".

Sadly, that would have been considered outright murder by the people protesting outside since it would have been a more direct way of ending her life.

Irony strikes again. The protestor's presence outside made the end of her life more potentially uncomfortable than she had to endure, and therefore more tragic. An injection would have been lots more humaine than starvation.

It cost 750K or so that they won from a lawsuit. He was offered 11 million dollars to give up guardianship of Terri to her parents.

Every person should have the right to decide what happens to themselves in a situation like this. If someone is unable to so this the choice should be with whomever has their duarable power if attorney. In this case, since she hadn't named anyone, it defaulted to her husband so this should be his decision. My personal preference would be to not have my suffering prolonged by an artificial means or invasive medical procedure.

Again, unfortunately, an injection would have been illegal. Removal of life-support is the only legal way for a patient to die of their own will.

Namely human life. I'm just wondering, but when in the course of history did basic human rights get lost in translation? Is it just me or should the only person capable of deciding whether they live or die be them and not an unfaithful husband and a self-righteous judge, willing to sacrifice justice and law in the name of "mercy"? Oh, but what do I know. And hey! While we're setting about cleansing the human race of any and all weak links, lets just gather every elderly, homeless, insane, and retarded person into one big arena and nuke 'em straight to "mercy". Oh, and don't forget those unborn fetuses! 'Cause it's not like they have any chance of survival at all. God forbid people reap what they sow.

If by charity, you mean lawyers, then yeah, Michael Schiavo spent the lawsuit money on charity. I mean, after all, poor George Felos needed money to be able to donate to Judge Greer's re-election campaign.

The key factor here is "own free will." Since the only person who claimed to have heard Terri say she would not want to live like she did, was the one person who stood to gain from her death (and who may have a lot to hide,) I'd say the court in Pinellas County decided to break Florida statutes based on hearsay. Bad form.

And come up with the ingenious answer to that question today.

Q:It's been said that Terri died with dignity, but just what dignity is there from being starved to death?

A:She didn't starve to death from the artificial nutrition tubes being removed.

Felos is truly a modern-day Einstein.

But what dignity did she have being kept alive and being paraded around on TV in her conditions? I mean I saw new videos of her, and my heart just sank. I mean this woman was being used as a political football, and it was just disgusting. I think Terri's dignity left when the media and everyone else had to stick their noses into it.

These lies are no more true posted here then they were in another thread.

It has been documented repeatedly that this is all bogus.

But I'll give you a chance to prove you aren't just a hate-filled liar:

1) Document Felos's contributions to Greer are more than a whopping $250.00?

2) Document that Mr. Schiavos was the only witness to testify about Mrs. Schiavos's wishes

3) Document that Mr. Schiavos has something to gain from Mrs. Schiavos's death

4) Identify the allegedly violated statute

5) Explain how the hearsay rule was violated.

I just have a few things to say...
To understand who is really the jerk, and possibly an attempted murderer, we need to look at how all this started.
Micheal Schaivo said that he came home one day and found her in the state she was in. He claimed that she was on a wierd diet and that she did not get all the nutrients she needed. Every other person, including her best friends, say that she was never on a wierd diet, and that something was not right about the situation. Perhaps we should also recognize the fact that Micheal Schaivo is a RN, and would know just what to do to kill his wife and make it seem like malnutrition. He also had to gain from the insurance money.
However she did not die. She somehow survived the damage to her mind and body. For five years her family was still visiting her. There were incidents in which she would say words. Even an incident of her on tape responding to questions about the pain she was in using sounds similar to yes and no. She repeated the same answers to the same questions when asked multiple times. Is this not a sign of brain activity?
Leave it to Micheal Schaivo to be the jerk that he is. Whenever she got an infection that was diagnosed as severe, the nurse reported him as being happy and mentioning about finally getting the money. He then prevented her from recieving the antibiotics. Throughout all this, by the will of the family therapuetic means were still being used. Means that have revived other people in a similar situation.
Then ten years ago, Micheal took it to the court to get the family out of the situation. The two doctors chosen by Micheal to report to the court, the same doctors everyone keeps quoting, said she would be a vegetable. However two other doctors, as chosen by the parents, said that she could be independant again. Unfortunately, the parents lost the case.
Micheal Schaivo then stopped all theraputic means. He would not allow a television, radio, or her parents to be in the room. He would not allow the doctors to try to bring her mind back to a somewhat normal point.
Although it was agreed that she would never be normal, it was still believed that therapy could bring her to teh point of a mentally retarded point. She would be alive and could think on her own and be on her own, but she would need some help; help that her family was more than willing to provide.

So who is the jerk here? The family that wanted at all times to bring Terri to as normal of a state as possible? Or is the the husband who denied treatment, enjoyed her illnesses, and ultimilately ordered her death? I leave it to you to answer the question, but I feel that the entire story needs to be said.

Fan of conspiracy theories are we? Your story is quite interesting, but it lacks one little detail. Any evidence of this, whatsoever. Or is Michael Schiavo such a cunning mastermind that he also cajoled the judges in every court case concerning this incident? I guess the sworn testimony of doctors saying she was in a persistive vegitative state, and had no chance of recovery means nothing next to an alleged tape?

Jesus tap dancing Christ, do you actually believe that this is some nefarious murderous scheme by Michael Schiavo despite the fact that he really had nothing to gain from it?
